car channels take note. this man put the torque specs in the video timeline! I love that idea!
Thanks for noticing!! 🙏 💪
I just got them and just installed them. Made my black Friday come through 👍
This is an absolute must, after watching your video I pulled the trigger on it, and I agree with how you described it. Huge difference in the shifting. More smooth engagement and assurance when going into gear. No more loose suspension feeling. Thanks for giving us your time making your vids. God bless
Glad it worked out for you man! It was hard to describe the changes and feeling but I’m glad you agree!
Great video man , I know how hard it is to film around the rear diff. Nice job !!
Thanks man!
I’m using Torque Solutions shift linkage bushings to replace the old worn out factory ones on my Honda
I installed a set of beat rush ones on my STI and the benefit to me was reduced 4 to 5 shift grinds. A good and easy mod. i also did the diff brace at the same time. Good video as always!
That’s awesome man! Glad it worked out for you!
When I installed these, the largest difference I noticed was better throttle response off the line and after coming out of a turn. Plus the lessening of that rubberband effect you mentioned.
Great way of explaining it! Thanks for checking out the video!
Post install, here are my tips for the carrier:
-on the upward facing side of the torque solutions bushings, take a small, angled chunk out of the edge. I couldn’t figure out how to get it on, but after taking the chunk out I was able to hit it with a mallet and after that it went in with ease. Make sure you cake it in grease.
-use a mallet to smack the bottom, get the non-aftermarket side in first.
-on the aftermarket side, tighten the bolt slightly. I noticed when I was trying to get the bushings in, it had a tendency to fall back out.
-Jack up just before the driveshaft and after the differential. The carrier won’t line up unless the driveshaft isn’t sagging. If you Jack up the differential it will continue to sag. Jack it up just in front of where the carrier goes and it’ll hold everything where it needs to be so the bolts line up nicely.
Hope this helps
Awesome video as always Ron! Excited to hear these bushings were a difference maker!
Thanks man! I was surprised how much of a difference they made!
@@ronfromportland that’s enough for me, ordered! 😂
@@dylanmwoods 😂😂
Nice sounding car btw. Like your choice of mods, about to do this diff insert set on my '17 WRX. Also picked up a set of rear subframe inserts. You need to change those springs man, ha, hah. 🤘
Thanks man! You’re the second person to mention the rear subframe inserts so I’ll check those out…and for sure, I need to swap out my suspension!
I can not overstate how useful having a vise is.
The diff carrier inserts will go right in with 1000 lbs of force.
Yup, I got one not too long ago! Total game changer!
I just ordered a set. I think one of the things I like best about your channel and reviews is how your build has been a thoughtful and gradual process. I like doing all the small things because I feel like the net gain from them is substantial overall and helps reinforce the vehicle. Great vid, Ron. Thanks!
Joshua, thank you so much for that comment. I appreciate it more than you know!
Joshy!
@@buyadriver Dude!
i did pretty much the same on mine. a different version of the upper bushings, and replaced the lower diff mount completely, and it did much to get rid of the subie herky jerky, much more than the pitch stop , trans mount, and shift improver kit, which all did a little, but no where near as much as the rear bushings. i still wasnt 100% sold with mine, but i went all in and put in a driveshaftshop crabon fiber driveshaft, and the was the last piece of the puzzle, getting rid of the hanger bearing was huge in driveability, and smoothness.
Crazy how much the rear bushings improved drivability considering it’s the cheapest out of all the other supporting mods. I may have to look into upgrading the driveshaft just to get a little more out of the car. Thanks for the info!
Heck yeah big dawg I just put me some on order, and they are on sale so thank for the info! It’s crazy how a small low cost mod can change the ride quality so much!
Definitely a bang for your buck mod! Thanks for checking out the video 🙏
@@ronfromportland always on top of your posts homie!
As far as I’m concerned your family big dawg!
@@MoJoNinjaGarage 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for this…Looking to install this mine in the future…🔥🤟✌️🇵🇭
That’s what’s up man! Thanks for checking out the video 🙏🙏
@@ronfromportland for sure man…Just keep doing videos on wrx..Im into it👍
Just grabbed a set for my STi . Let’s see how they do!
Awesome. Let me know what you think!
I already had a Cusco diff carrier so I just had to install the diff ones
What difference does the Cusco make in your opinion? I have the white line inserts installed on the stock carrier, and I’m just trying to see whether it is worth it to upgrade to this or torque solution one.
@@CG-rb4xo The Cusco Diff carrier is a lot bigger so it’s going to be more sturdier, stronger and allow less movement of the drivetrain. Stiffens things up.
How'd you break the bolts on the diff carrier? The diff mount inserts were much easier. But the diff carrier bolts just won't budge on my hatch.
I pried them as hard as I could using a breaker bar. Even my impact couldn’t break them loose.
update on the grimspeed bpv? i ziptied the hoses on mines to make sure its not a hose leak lol
Hopefully soon! I’ve been putting off the install since the car is running so smooth right now with the nameless performance BPV 😅
Another great informational vid man. Did you switch out your Grimmspeed BPV? Noticed the sound differences and was curious, since I'm waiting for mine.
Great observation! Yes, I swapped it back to the Nameless Performance BPV since it was having some issues. Long story short, I sent it back to Grimmspeed for inspection and I just got it back the other day. I explained a little more in detail in this video czcams.com/video/vQfbtw_FPLk/video.html
Have you considered doing the rear subframe inserts from torque solutions?
Not yet but I will look into this!
@@ronfromportland awesome if you decide to do it, I would appreciate a detailed install.
You going to get a new rear sway bar in the near future?
Eventually I will. I want different suspension too so I may just do it all at once.
these are like the whiteline ones, yes? does it matter the brand?
Yes, they're all pretty much the same!
but why only one side of the diff carrier and not the other? isnt it bad for the mount to have one side more stiff thank the other?
Good question that I honestly don’t know the answer to. I don’t remember if the other bracket is smaller than the other but that would be my best guess.
@@ronfromportland gotcha. Well I mean seems like all positive reviews so I guess there no issues it just seem odd to me, besides that I think I’m screwed because I have a 2020 and the diff set up is a little different than 2019 and under so it kinda looks like the bushings above the diff won’t fit because I don’t see any slots in the OEM bushing but I’ll know for sure later today when I Life the car up. Either way thank you for the help and the awesome videos. It helps the community alot
@@SpecOpsDad thanks man! Let me know what you find out if you don’t mind! I’m always curious on the differences between years and certain models. Good luck!
@@SpecOpsDad on second thought, you might want to check out this video from a buddy of mine. He has a 2020 and also did the upgrade czcams.com/video/TAElX9v0Plg/video.html
Diff carrier torque at 51.6 on all bolts??
Rear diff bolts are 44.7, rear diff carrier bolts are 51.6
Are you sure there is supposed to be 2 bushings on one side for the bottom? i think its supposed to be one each side.
Yup, I thought it was strange too.
@@ronfromportland Yeah double checking the installs everywhere else, its supposed to be one on the left and then one on the right, both in the back like you did the top.
@@rtp1989 show me a link to the video you’re referring to? I just saw this one right here and both are on the left: czcams.com/video/xo9EQCFyMxc/video.html
Also there aren’t any slots on the right side so there’s no way to shove the inserts in there.
@@ronfromportland hmm weird, I just checked the one I saw was from a 2014, so different. Idk maybe they changed it
FIRST💯
🔥 🔥 🙏
Any noticeable NVH after install or nah?
A few days after installing the inserts, I do hear a little more NVH, in a good way of course. I spoke too soon in the video.
@@ronfromportland gotcha do you have an AOS installed? Might try getting a strut tower bar too but I'm not sure if it'll clear my IAG AOS if I go with a Perrin like yours ✌️
@@xil3ntkha0s gotcha, I have dual catch cans instead!
@@ronfromportland looks like I gotta get a different brand tower bar but thanks for reply
Where did you get your bushing from?

Thank you
Dude. I feel like me and you do the same upgrades at the same time. I did these about a month ago along with my Whiteline rear sway bar and Perrin polyurethane bushings. I had to use silicone spray in the diff carrier to get them to insert even though they are prelubricated. I love the difference the rear made! @brisky_wrx
Nice, glad to hear it made a huge difference! Can’t believe I only recently discovered these. It should have been done years ago!
I had a feeling that was you on IG!
Learning to drive standard better will also reduce the ‘bucking’ you’re feeling.
