    This is rather interesting.... it's basically a modified upsidedown kidney ear wire. Thanks for sharing this tutorial! 👍🙂

    Thanks! These are very pretty and simplistic! I like plain hoops because they are just "enough" to not "over-do" an outfit, but they can be "amazing and stunning" for a classy professional look!!

    Do you have measurements on the mandrel so you know ho make the hoops even? I've not used a mandrel yet. Is the 20 gauge wire stainless steel? Thanks!

    How can I hammer the wire without making lots of bents? I noticed whenever I try to hammer the wire it looks ruined and has lots of scratches/bents. I hope that makes sense.

    • @Wirewrap
      @Wirewrap  Před 6 měsíci

      A rubber hammer will not damage The Wire but a metal hammer will. Sometimes a metal hammer that is round at the end can make marks on The Wire that make it look sparkly and intentional... It's something to just play around with but if you don't want any marks at all you need to use a rubber mallet.

    Hello from Brazil Shana!!!! I was wondering what material is the wire made out of it? It seems so easy to shape it! Thanks a lot!

    • @Wirewrap
      @Wirewrap  Před 2 lety +1

      For the video I probably used a silver plated wire but if I were to sell them I would have used solid Sterling silver.

    Thank you , for sharing your talent. What type a file should I get? And, if a nick my wire when I am making jewelry, can I file the surface to get rid of the marks? Thanks, again!

    • @pinksapphire.2262
      @pinksapphire.2262 Před 4 lety

      joanne lewis there’s a another product called a wire rounder that will round out the end of that wire but sandpaper or an emery board work just as well but you have to be careful if you are using plated wire with a copper core.

    • @Wirewrap
      @Wirewrap  Před 3 lety +1

      I like getting a black nail file from Sally's. They last longer than a cheap Emery board and are much easier to work with than sandpaper but all of them will work but the black heavy duty nail files are my favorite.

    is there a difference between a raw hide mallet vs a rubber mallet - they seem to do the same thing but I can't find any information on it.

    • @Wirewrap
      @Wirewrap  Před 2 lety +2

      Sorry for the super late reply but maybe it will help somebody else. There's really not much of a difference, they do the same. I prefer using the rubber mallet for small things.. It just seems easier to control.

  • @rubinapanjwaniartbywire

    You are suppose to file in one direction

    Why not wrap both pieces of wire around the mandrel at the same time? Then they will be exactly the same.

    What wire do you buy? And where? Thanks

    • @Wirewrap
      @Wirewrap  Před 2 lety +1

      Depends on what kind of wire you want to use. 20 gauge for these earrings because that's the perfect size to go inside the actual piercing, But you can use silver plated wire or Sterling silver. You can do a Google search for Sterling silver wire and there are lots of suppliers

    What type of file did you use?

    • @Wirewrap
      @Wirewrap  Před 3 lety +2

      It's a black heavy duty nail file. I get them at Sally's or even at a drugstore in the make up section. They seemed to work the best and hold up better than just a simple Emery board.
