- This is the 2nd video of my superb 1930s Bowman M101 toy steam engine. This video was made after I had repaired a very badly worn small end. If you watched the previous video you will notice it is much quieter now.
Excellent video of a finely restored Bowman John. 👏👏👏👏
Well it runs nice and its a marvellous machine :-)
Very interesting engine, especially with the geared transmission. Was it always a stationary unit, or was it fitted to a model tractor or something previously?
These were always stationary engines. This is a mid production variant, so about 1930. The maker, Bowman's, were an English company who also built for the Hobbies company. This model was also available as a kit, called the Lion, and on a wooden base, called the E101. Bowman did not build any mobiles such as model traction engines, but they did produce a wide range of boats, elastic, air and steam powered, and a range of model yachts.
