  • The signing of the Anglo-Irish treaty on 6 December 1921 ended British rule in most of Ireland.
In 1922 the Irish Free State was established and with it the formation of the National Army.
Over the next 100 years, thousands of Irish men and women have served the state both at home and on overseas deployment as members of Óglaigh na hÉireann.
    This is their story.....

A glorious first 100 years, marked with somewhat dark times but Ireland stays strong throughout. Long live the Republic and here's to another 100.

Congratulaations on a very well presented history of our National Defence Forces. It is a gripping presentation and I loved it.
