The game can be played on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and through PS Now.
I recommend doing this on Xbox 360, Xbox One or PS Now since the stage has some loading issues on PS3 (because you can't actually install the game to the hard drive).

You can download the game into the hard drive on PS3 because the PlayStation Store is online because Sony changed their minds. I own the game physically on my PS3 and I've never encountered the issue where you have to wait on the second Hedgehog phase

I've gotten the platinum TWICE in this game and lemme tell u these hot dog missions have possibly gave me some of the worst anxiety in my life.

Literally the most difficult and most unnecessary mission in any Sonic game 😭 I just want the world completely back together man
Dude, the last piece of planet (Eggmanland) will never enters into planet , whatever you do (DLC, Don Fachio's missions, level up werehog / hedgehog, medals, etc). The answer is easy, because after sonic beating Dark Gaia, he will never be a werehog again, Chip (Light Gaia) will go inside the last piece and for that, if the last piece enters into the planet then you cannot play werehog stages and you haven't got Chip around you or telling you tips in stages. With a little words the game is perpetual.

The checkpoints are with out a doubt the most POINTLESS things in the trial missions for Eggmanland. Bc when you hit a checkpoint you restart from that checkpoint, but if you hit a checkpoint in the trial mission for Eggmanland and you die, you have to start WAY THE F#$K back at the beginning so there's really no reward for hitting the checkpoints in the trial missions.
The camera wants you dead more than the actual level.

I'm doing a 100% playthrough of this game and I'm absolutely dreading these last hot dog missions. Empire City and Adabat are already making me want to tear my hair out, I can't even imagine what Eggmanland is like. Thankfully, it doesn't have as many missions, but still. I'm bracing myself for a night of unrelenting torture, lol.

It's basically hard mode regularly, but with the hotdog mission, it's like satan is throwing you a welcoming party type mode! Especially with phase 2!!! I always hated phase 2 so fucking much that it can literally go the fuck to hell!

Edit: Within the same day, with 500 aneurysms and dedication, I got the achievement. All it takes is patience and focus👍🏾
15:00 I made it to this part of the level before the camera turned for no reason, unloaded the floor, and I fell below the level into a kill plane... fuck Eggmanland

This mission is hell on PS3. Still gotta beat it two more times for that achievement.
Try it via PSNow, loading times are SO much better. (and with loading I also mean textures)

5:11 this part upsets me so much because the game never tells you that you can let go of this by pressing x and I kept doing dangerous things just to get off of this

5:10 i deadass played through this whole game without knowing you could just let go. this whole time i was jumping backwards and scrambling to get back on the pipe. my life is saved

I want to marry you, you helped me a lot and finally beat at least the 75 minutes time trial, i keep dying a lot on the 65 minutes one but at least now i know how to complete this damned stage in one cicle

Good guide, I've always heard how much of a pain this hot dog missions is since you can't die a single time, but the easiest places to mess up is in the beginning and middle part and it gets easier later on.
6:54 i can never make that jump this is the stupidest thing i've ever seen why would they change the camera angle right when you jump i've died like 7 times at this

The pink enemie in that area is the legit bane of my existence, the pattern is weird!

Man thanks for the video guide, but i am so nervous to attempt this myself. I only have the hot-dog missions left in the game and ive done the first two countries, but they were difficult enough!
There are just so many death traps and parts that are unforgiving to feel confident in doing this with only one life.
It's all a matter of trial & error. When I did this myself (like 8 years ago or sth.) I was really bad at it, but you'll get better over time, just keep trying! You can do this! :D

it took me a solid day of attempting this to finally beat the stage ONCE. Then I attempted it the following day and got the other two runs pretty much one after the other.
After going through the levels so many times you do learn the ropes a little, but still an incredibly hard stage overall

I Hate all the lava part with the Werehog. Before Eggmanland are Adabat (Jungle Joyride) And Empire City (Skyscreaper Scamper) And they don't are too dificult

I've beaten the level in 18 minutes.... But I'm scared to try the hotdog because of the part were you have to land on the gear... Its the only place in the level I die too anymore but I always die there a lot

I think the biggest problem is how punishing it is. My theory is that there was suppose to be checkpoints hence why they gave you a lot of time. I actually managed to complete it but it's still a pain.
I'm struggling with those wall quick time events, I fail every time and when I feel I did it right, for some reason for the game I didn't 😪
