Morris cold weather starting trick that works with non key operated starters. Turn on ignition until pump stops clicking. Turn off ignition, pull choke, use pull starter knob to spin engine over for 3-4 seconds. Then turn on ignition. Car will usually start and run without multiple attempts due to the inertia starter being thrown out of engagement when first cylinder fires but engine does not continue to run. For later cars with key operated starter one would have to operate starter with the rubber button on the starter relay under the hood.
I’ve got a 4 door 1954 saloon with a later 1098cc engine fitted by a previous owner. He also changed the gearbox which unfortunately has a top speed of 40mph. Must get a replacement sometime.
Very cool! I’ll hopefully be buying one towards the end of the year. Have you put an alternator conversion kit in or are you still using the original thing? Beautiful old car!
@@AdamParysWhite Great! Good to see your still using the Dynamo and not had issues, I'd say your winters are a bit more harsh than mine where I'm located in New Zealand, so might not have any issues.
I just pull it all the way out when its that cold but I think I'm running a bit rich anyway, when I use too much choke its runs bad haha. Yeah absolutely fine up hills when it's cold, not noticed any issues!
I get the impression that your poor passenger is weighing up whether having no heater really was such a great idea afterall 😂. Loved this video too!
Funnily enough the heater is on full 😂😂 think she wasnt too impressed by the sealing on the windows...
🤣
How'd you go getting "unstuck"?
Bit faster run up and 2 wheels in the grass got us through it haha
Lovely exhausting rasp on the over run, your Morris certainly flies.
Best sounding exhaust ever

Nice one, never knew that, good to know!!
Nice...I have a 1963 Moggy. Great cars!
Great 👌 Never had so much fun driving so slowly
My morris looks exactly like that one
I’ve got a 1955 splity and it won’t do that kind of speed.
Great film.
Proper early one then, love it. The later engines keep up with modern stuff just fine!

Your steering wheel is even more out of alignment than mine! 🙂

I love that car/video❤❤👍
Great vid - brave man - if your brakes are anything like mine! :))
Had to put my life on the line for some good content...
😆 LOL
V cool
Thanks for your reply earlier. How much choke do you use on freezing cold mornings? What's it like pulling up a really steep hill with a cold engine?

Does the Morris have better heating than the Beetle
Not been in a Beetle, but I can say the heating isnt great in this 😂
What year is the Morris?
1965, still overtaking everyone...
