  • After breakfast in my hotel, we went to visit Skeldons fish and vegetable market nearby. In the market, we found not only fish and vegetables but also other items such as clothing, toys, and a lot of other things. The overall market consisted of multiple sections. We enjoyed it a lot and the people there were also nice. If you enjoyed the video, please make sure to like and subscribe to help my channel grow. Thanks for watching.

*Nasir Bhai Guyana's market and Guyana's people are exactly the same and the local market etc. are all the same, the only difference is that the people of Suriname speak Hindi while the Indian origin people of Guyana cannot speak Hindi! Loved all the three videos of your Guyana series, may Allah bless you a lot, Aameen*

@@TravelWithNasir1 that's because Suriname was ruled by the Dutch who allowed the Indians speak their language while the British ruled Guyana and forbade and discourage the Indians from speaking their language. However we still kept our indian culture and food check out if can go to Indian wedding in Guyana you will see the culture. As well Diwali and holi and eid are all public holidays in Guyana. In guyanese English we use many word that come from hindi, Urdu, and bhojpuri, Tamil. Words like didi, cha chi, mamoo, Powah, mousie, hena, aji, aja, jerra, Aloo, pani, kahi, raja, rani, chamke, Dahl, Channa, masala, atar, bai/Bhai, Bhaiya, buygie, nani, nana, Bharat, dulha, Dulhin, Choka, chutney, bhaigan, paratha, dosti and much more. Many Indian words are use in Guyana. How though the British tried to erase our culture they failed because our ancestors tried the best to keep our culture intact. They are still Hindustani speaker in Guyana however they are dieing out. Indian music is very popular in Guyana and Trinidad. In fact there is an carribean Indian music genre called chutney music. Guyana is 30 % hindu and 12% Muslim we more or less kept the religion of our ancestors. Keep mind we survived colonization as well as having lot of our culture intact also keep mind our ancestors in Guyana left India in 1838 while in Suriname they arrived in 1860. Our ancestors left India when Pakistan and Bangladesh were still part of hindustan. Many of us are 4 or 5 generation Indian so even though no longer speak the language it should be said and respected we are still Indians and proud to be. We are decents of people who are surrivers and hard working people who made sacifaces for India and who were forgotten.
