I agree with Moe. Smurfing and not playing seriously is pretty disrespectful towards your opponent, and it wastes a lot of time for people trying to rank up.
I feel Moe in this. I hate trying to rank up and getting kids saying "it's just a game bro. It's matchmaking. It's not faceit" etc. Like damn man I wanna win.
These type of shit wouldn't happen if Valve fixed matchmaking a long time ago, like fixing the anticheat and upgrading it to 128 tick
well they were playing for content, adn content isn't good when you're not enjoying making it so they prob wanna have fun and not stress about the game but i see where you're coming form, that does happen when i play serious too

I also think it's more respectful towards your opponent to actually try and win, even if you're smurfing like Tarik and the guys are doing here. I only play matchmaking, and if I go against smurfs, I would much rather get 16-0'd than to sit through an entire game that I was never going to win in the first place. Friday and saturday evening is the only time I can 5-stack with my friends, and I don't want smurfs to take that time away from me by not playing seriously.

Haha feels good watching pros play matchmaking. I switched to faceit but i still play with some friends sometimes. MM is sooo fucked, very few blatant hackers when I play but the level of skill in silver alone is crazy in NA. I'm not sure how valve could go about fixing it, i hear people say it's just a symptom of the lower player population. Good to see pros giving it attention, a vibrant casual scene is necessary for the health of the game going forward, especially in north america!
