what are you talking about?!? she's one of the most complete ballerinas of this generation. she works really hard, but please watch her roles as nikiya or giselle, she's got such an emotional depth
this is an amazing documentary, not just because of Lopatkina but because of the amazing filming! well done to the director and director of photography! very talented

It must be something to have that sort of control over one's body. I can't imagine even coming close. Ballet never ceases to amaze me.

It's absolutely the reality of the hard work of the previous preparation for a good Ballerina... overall in the East Countries like Russia. I'm Ballerina, from I have myself use of reason. And it's it's a very sacrificed life with a great discipline!!! ❤🦢🩰 You could watch from yourself the routine of great Ballerina Ulyana Lopatkina....

@ Alexandra Rose,@danceblogger17: I think some of that footage is from before she had the operation on her foot/ankle (not sure which exactly), so she might be in pain.
+Elizaveta Kadochnikova From the look of the choreography (jetés en tournant, fast ballottés, etc.) she seemed to be rehearsing the very difficult cadenza from "Ballet Imperial" in that particular rehearsal. That's a damn hard ballet to dance, to put it mildly, especially after coming back from an injury like that.

@balletonly07 yes i understand that...idk i just feel that if ur to dedicate ur life to something maybe at least a few times you should be happy about it. i also dont speak the language but im sure the ppl that yell arent yelling kind things. :P so yeah i understand why she looks depressed but im just saying that maybe a few times she should be happy.
danceblogger17 in ballet you get criticized all the time. It is just part of your job. So I don't think it has anything to do with what they are saying. You have to understand that it is not about you, it is about the dance. And just because someone doesn't look like it's Christmas doesn't mean they aren't happy. She is just focused. If you had already been dancing for five hours and this was the thousandth time running that same part, I doubt very much that you would be grinning ear to ear either.
