    this is an incredible feat of climbing, deserves way more spotlight, the extreme conditions must make this climb so random and risky, also quite hard to train on it given the route can change quite fast due to the waterfall... incredible achievement, up there with Alain Roberts and Alex Honnold in the free solo realm.

    Mad props. Though if this becomes a thing for climbers in Japan, I can see an accident waiting to happen...

    • @ryanscottm
      @ryanscottm Před 4 lety +1

      @@yScribblezHD a 5.4 grade is not based on conditions or length or even danger. In dry conditions, this would be considered a walk-up. I get it, crumbling holds and slippery, mossy surfaces make it dangerous.....that's my point. This is not technically difficult. It is dangerous and this is giving acclaim to someone for stupidly risking his life. I would guess that Ondra would be relying as much on luck as anything. Should we celebrate Russian roulette because it is dangerous and the participants are "brave" (I would say stupid)?

    • @yScribblezHD
      @yScribblezHD Před 4 lety +1

      Ryan Morris Climbing grades (while somewhat arbitrary) are DEFINITELY based on difficulty. To say the length of a route DOES NOT factor in to difficulty gives me really all I need to know in terms of how frequently you climb lmao.
