Upgrading a 2007 24" iMac we got at a thrift store- worth it in 2023?

Hello hello mom and dad meet world we upgrade a 2007 iMac that we found at thrift store quite a few months ago. This is meant to be more entertaining as opposed to educational. Attempt everything you see in this video with caution. We are not responsible for your actions. The goal was to see if we could make an obsoleted 2007 iMac somewhat useable in 2023. Something you could put in the kitchen or den and browse the web with, check email, and watch CZcams videos. I answer is yes.
We bought an Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 on ebay for $25. This was needed to install a patched version of Mac OS Catalina. We already had a 2.5" 500gb ssd installed in a 3.5" cage adapter. (if you don't already have one factor in the cost of a ssd and adapter)
We used our Mac Studio to make the dos dude 1 patcher usb drive that we'll use at the very end of the video.
Links below especially the ifixit link are very helpful as they provide a narrative and visual to get down to replace the hard drive.

In order to stop the install loop for el capitan or install errors you have to go into terminal on the setup then type date then change date to one that is sutiable an the install will go without a problem,but yea catalina or mojave is sweet on theses machine i also have a 2007 imac ill be upgrading like this.

Nice video and new sub here. How I wish Apple kept the magnetic screens instead of the glued ones in later models. They are an absolute pita! I have 6 or 7 of these so may look at upgrading the CPU's and such just as you have. Thanks mate, from New Zealand. :)
