After last weeks ridiculousness, I thought I'd dive into another direction. This is a first and oh my gosh. Things are getting busier, more filming and photoshoots are popping up and things are getting EXCITING! I'm also looking more tired than usual as a result :D

This was a country song telling the story of “the crossroads” and those being prevalent in southern mythology. He wrote it about Robert Johnson the blues guitar pioneer that supposedly sold his soul to the devil to learn to play the guitar. One of the first Rolling Stones big hits was a cover of a Robert Johnson song. Colter Wall’s song Kate McCannon is a good one to react to. I like a lot of his newer stuff though. He has grown into his voice and become smoother like a fine whiskey.

If you liked Chris Stapleton’s stuff, he was in a bluegrass(a more classical type of country, that comes from the Appalachian mountains(it’s pronounced app-uh-latch-in, btw, every one else is wrong)) band called ‘The Steeldrivers’. The two best songs, IMO, are ‘Sticks That Made Thunder’ (a song about a Civil War battle from the perspective of a nearby tree) and ‘Can You Run’ (which is a song about a slave making a break for freedom in Union(the North’s) territory, the morning of a nearby battle). Both fantastic songs that show case different aspects of Chris’ voice, and “vibes” that might tickle your fancy. If those aren’t your fans, two other ones are ‘Ghost of Mississippi’ (an encounter with the Devil/Ghost of Mississippi) and ‘Where Rainbows Never Die’ (a story of an old man, about what it’s like to cross over into Heaven). These two song also showcase a different tone and emotion, and I struggle not to cry listening to ‘Where Rainbows Never Die’.
    Cheers, and happy listening!

"The Devil Went Down to Georgia" is a classic song too, and it has been covered so many times... I'd suggest Nickelback's version, recently launched and surprisingly awesome! Primus and Korn versions are also good options

I don't think you will see it now, but I recommend: Townes Van Zandt - Waitin´ Around to Die, and No Place to Fall.
Townes is a great folk/country musician with a tragic life story, he had bipolar disorder and suffered from drug addictions and alcoholism. He is very influential but was not very successful or well know. He was covered by many artists between them Bob Dylan and even Colter Wall.
Waitin' Around to Die and No Place to Fall are two of my all time favorite songs, the first one is more tragic and the second one is a sad romantic ballad.

Chris Stapleton - I Was Wrong
Shows some of his more extensive range. He's from right down the road from my house.
