  • My XK K124 RC helicopter won't enter calibration mode, yet my K123 will. I found a missing component on the K124's board. Is that the issue? Let's have a look.

    I just bought a k124 and it is extremely frustration to set it up. Finally got it to take off, THANKS to a few youtubers like yourself. Still need to configure it more, i would like it to do hover, on its own. The switch from flying an Eachine 129 has been a shock so far 😂👍.

    Thank you, John for investigating this issue. I really appreciate it. Let's hope other people will tell us weather their xk k124 enters 6g calibration mode or not. It could be that xk k124 board is different even if is just software wise. I saw that on the back of each xk helicopter electronic board is ticked the coresponding model even though the boards apparently look the same.

    Thanks so much! Was losing it trying to understand the calibration procedure in the manual.

    according to the paperwork you provided. They upgraded the board and it says it is no longer necessary to manually calibrate these units on the newer units. Mine will not enter calibration either but the gyro still works in 3D and 6G modes. Don't know if it's right but mine hovers and does 3D just fine. Good video, Jay

    Hi John,
    Came across your video and mine does not enter calibration mode either. No issues with the K100 and K123 tho.
    My K124 hovers fairly decent besides some backward drift, but when i put the sticks into the outside bottom corners the blue light flashes quickly and seems to do some movement in the head/blades, but does not actually stay in calibration mode unlike my other XK helis that actually can be calibrated for 6G

    I found that you need low to be at zero in the radio settings before you can hold down the right stick to enter the mode.
    Also, you once in the mode, you can use low rates for the flight, as long as you switch to high again before you throttle down and held the elevator down to save it.

    I am currently experiencing this problem on this card. If it is an update it can revert to the old model because much more reliable in the precision of piloting even after having restricted the expo D / R for a smoother flight. Having two models I clearly see the difference. a 3 year old still as new and another very recent. sigh ... is it an improvement or poor quality? ... to have...

    So, my XK K-124 does not have the capacitor on the board, and does nothing when I hold both sticks in the "down" position, but... In both 6G Pose and 3D Lock Gyro modes, if I hold the left stick down and to the left, and the right stick down and to the right, it does enter one of it's calibration modes (the one that does not require a bit of hovering to complete).

    Just looked at my k124 and it DOES have the caps on it. Mine DOES go into the Calib Mode, Just tried it.

    John, you have to have the sticks out to the lower outer corners to get in 3G calibrations mode in mode2 , that sets the 3G gyro "level" position. Straight down like you are showing is the 6G trim flight mode.

      I am trying to level the accelerometers (6G). That was the original question after all. Works fine on the 123, not on the 124.

    how are you flying xk brand heli with your horus x12? I have the x10 and would like to fly my xk heil with it. can you make a video on how you are binding them to the xk stuff?

    • @Rchelicopterfun
      @Rchelicopterfun  Před 4 lety

      I use the iRangeX multi-protocol module. I show the bind procedure for both the XK K124 & K123 in the reviews I did on them. Here are all the links:

    My XK K124 doesn't work anymore after fully charging battery. When I plug the battery in the power port, it does the startup beeps then that's it. I don't even get lights anymore, and it does not sync. Sometimes after plugging the battery into the helicopter power, it beeps indefinitely. Any clue on what this might be? Do I have to send it back for repairs? Never crashed it, and shipping time is crazy.. Please help.

      Sounds like a faulty battery but without being able to test it all, that is just a guess. Have you tired other battery packs to see if the problem follows the the battery or follows the heli?

    I noted that my K124 enters in calibration easy but it needs to be in height D/R . In low D/R doesn't start the calibration

    Hey John - another great video 👍🏻 I’m experiencing a very weird beeping from my xk k124 ec145 heli.
    After binding, the tail rotor spins up and all the servos check out fine. But I’m getting no power to the main motor, it just keeps beeping with solid blue and red LEDs. I replaced the motherboard with a new one but no change - any ideas? Thanks 😊

  • @astouff
    @astouff Před 3 lety

    Thanks for the good guidance. I burned the main board and once replaced I’m not able to calibrate the rudder. The tail motor is ok, but when connected to the board, it does not compensate the main rotor spin. It rotates only in the same direction increasing the spin. Any clue how to calibrate the rudder? Thanks

    • @Rchelicopterfun
      @Rchelicopterfun  Před 3 lety +1

      As far as I know, there is no tail calibration. Sounds more like the tail motor wiring is reversed or perhaps the tail blade in on backwards - ie. check the direction of thrust to make sure it is counter to the main rotor reactive torque. BTW... Tail motors only spin in one direction, they don't reverse. They will basically turn off when yawing left allowing the reactive torque from the main rotor to yaw the heli left. They spin at medium speed while not yawing to create a state of equilibrium between the tail thrust and reactive torque. They spin full speed to yaw right. Of course the speed is proportional to the yaw commands and tail gyro correction commands.

    • @astouff
      @astouff Před 3 lety

      Thanks a lot. I was so stuck trying to reverse the tail rotor spin that did not pay attention on the main rotor direction. The chances to reverse the motor polarity or invert the tail propeller are minimal but the connection of the main rotor motor can be easily inverted by mistake. I realised that the problem was on the main rotor thanks to your guidance. Problem solved 👍🏼

    I know this question has nothing to do with your video but, which stick ends are you using on your transmitter? Umbrella or grand lotus?
    Thanks

    I bought xk k100 helicopter so it's not stable flying in 6g

  • @MrLediv

    I found that my k124 that can't enter calibration mode, I cannot switch between 3G and 6G when in flight, the only way I can switch between modes is to land it first and then it allows me to change modes. But on my K110 that does enter calibration mode, it will allow me to change between 3G and 6G during flight. Try your K123 to see can it change between 3G and 6G when in flight. Your K124 will probably be the same as mine.

      I got a new K124 recently and that's the same with 3D/6G switching - it only works on the ground with the motor stopped. Apparently on older ones you could do it in the air, which is pretty handy if (like me) you're not a 3D God!
