Finally a fully broken in run of our ported McCulloch super pro 70 that we are sending to Buckin. Testing and tuning is a big part of the job!! Take er easy
Kind of crazy how one wild man busting up firewood with old axe heads and vintage yellow powersaws brought this whole community together. A community of the most helpful and good people. I wouldn't know of ironhorse, walkers saw shop, killinger, bayou country power saws, and the Tinman. all owe Buckin' a thank you.
Now that's a real saw friends!!! Ol' Mr. McCulloch was way ahead of the times with his power saws! It's a shame we don't have that breed of power saws in todays Modern saw world. Imagine an Mtronic style Or Fuel Injected super! Oh man! Still to this day.... the ol' Macs and Pioneer's are of my favorite ol' power saws to run. On a side note, there's nobody better out there than ol' @Buckin' Billy Ray Smith to have, use, store, and cherish that Super Pro 70..... With his 40 other McCulloch's Enjoy it Buckin'! Nice work @Tinman's Saws 👍👍
I just watched your series on porting. I watched a video yesterday about "square filing" a chain. The guys were cutting almost 30" wood. They took a new Oregon chain on a 660 Westcoast saw and made a cut of almost 29 seconds. Then they hand filed it with a guide and a circular file and dropped it to around 20 seconds. Then they removed the guide and filed out the gullets like Buckin does, and dropped down to 18 seconds. Finally, Jed square filed it with a "triangular" file and dropped it below 15 seconds. That's crazy performance over a brand new chain, and probably as big of an improvement as a stock saw vs ported saw. I can provide a link if you want. Thanks for your videos and sharing your knowledge.
That old McCulloch is playing rock’n’roll! 👍 Funny note... Mercury outboard engines got pretty much the same port design as those old yellow powersaws. 🤔 I got a few of those, think I’m gonna use a little bit of your ideas and port one... 😜 Nice work, buddy! 🇸🇪
Sounds good I can't wait to see the 670 in some wood, the throttle response on that is night and day from the way it was before being ported. Tinman u do good work, really enjoy ur channel.
The sound of those Macs even at idle brings back memories. No sound like it. I remember my dad’s saw which I still have. Doesn’t run very well. Maybe someday.
Brother I love that saw! That thing makes me smile! I’m loving what you do, how you do it, and how you’re making me wanna tune my pro mac 60! Just got her running over the fall and only bucked a couple cords with it, but man do I have mac fever!
If that saw is 45 years old. It’s the same age as me. I was born in 1975. I’ll be 46 this year. I’m not sure 🤔 if that saw might be running better than me. Nice job Tinman, it looks & sounds great 👍
4 strokin just right and you can lean on the dog and it takes it. Nice job tm! When you switched to side view it looks a lot better. Can see saw at work better👍🏻
Have to say my pm 60 is my best saw so far has crazy pull and when i think she is bogging i reallize adjust my hand and had more throttle to play with lol
Hmmm🤔 good question you’ll have to make a comparison video and see which one is the winner!! Lol Either way loud saws are cool!! neighbours may not like it at 10pm when you’re trying to tune the carb, not that I’ve ever done that 🙄🤣 Take care buddy, cya on the next one!!
Looks like you put an edge on those teeth. That old saw can cut. I like the way it pulls itself back to revving when you dog it into the wood. A lot of porters go too far and lose that torque. Well done sir!
For a 50cc saw, unless you changed the barrel, that thing is awesome. It even gives away 8cc to your Homelite you built. Well done, would like to see the results of you sinking your teeth into a bigger Mac.
So... let’s start with holy smokes 🔥 How did you overcome the tork issue you had before hand. P.S. love what your doing. Did I say that yet hehe 💪🏻🪓⚡️💚 Kindness and love
I'm curious what you think the power % is gained over stock? I just brought a Pro Mac 10-10 home and cut up 2 24" maples. I was very surprised with the power. It was pulling a 24" bar with ease.
My 850 doesn't return to idle very quick and I've been thinking it has a air leak but yours and and some in other videos don't either I guess its a mcculloch thing🤔
my address is .....
Good times you guys! Thanks for all the hard work you both do for this community of saw nuts👍
123 Elf Road, North Pole, 88888 wait.. that’s santas nvm 🤣 ❤️
Hahaha.!!!!!! 👀 Tinman is on a roll. 🦾🧠💚
Looks good. Everyone be safe be careful and be kind.
Another good build

Nice work @Tinman's Saws 👍👍
couldn't agree more, the mac's where just the best of all of em.
A 45 year old Mac plus a 52 year old Merc = Happy Buckin' 😁🔧🔥
Thanks Tinman 👍🏁
Very awesome saw!! Amazing those ol saws can be as good or better than the modern stuff. Great job!!
This is a great example of how some imagination and know how can get a guy worked around no available parts. Way to show us what's up, Tinman!

GREAT JOB BUDDY SHES GOT ATTITUDE😎😎😎😎😎💪💪💪💪✊✊✊
Great job on that saw!! And you’re right it could be just a touch louder too!! Lol
Its loud for sure, maybe louder then the hotrod homelite??
Hmmm🤔 good question you’ll have to make a comparison video and see which one is the winner!! Lol
Either way loud saws are cool!! neighbours may not like it at 10pm when you’re trying to tune the carb, not that I’ve ever done that 🙄🤣

Thanks buddy, this saw pulls pretty hard for sure.
That’s what a TINMAN Mac sounds like.
Nice jod.

These 70's are 50.8mm bore. 4.3 cubic inch displacement (70.46 cubic centimeters)
Yep shes 70cc.
The old Girl sounds good.
Buckin’ says turn it up, lol
You sure you want to send that to Bucking Billy,😆 just saying. It's awesome
🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛
It's singing now! 🙂
Pitter patter that thing gets at'er great job . Is that a cottonwood tree you're bucking up .
Tinman/Ironhorse= strong reliable powersaw
Seems i remember points and cap ignition had fat blue spark instead of the thin white spark i see now
That’s an awesome saw it’s almost impossible finding an old Mac of the larger cc power saws in North Texas😂😂
Greg Jones: There's plenty of em in northwest arkansas name your poison.
So... let’s start with holy smokes 🔥
How did you overcome the tork issue you had before hand.
P.S. love what your doing. Did I say that yet hehe 💪🏻🪓⚡️💚
Kindness and love
With doing some work on the points/ignition, do you mean that would be the reason it didn't go back to idle normal? Nice build!💪🏻👍🏻
Yeah this one is running well but i think it needs some more tuning.
Whatever happened to the Poulan 5200 you were working on?
I'm curious what you think the power % is gained over stock? I just brought a Pro Mac 10-10 home and cut up 2 24" maples. I was very surprised with the power. It was pulling a 24" bar with ease.
Mac's and the pioneers had the snort bro, you clap out a mac and even a new saw gets whooped.
Well done sir. I have a Mac cp70. It has the fixed jet walbro carb. 😒 I'm struggling with it. Any ideas on a carb replacement?
Any dual jet SDC of apropriate size should work
@@tinmanssaws 👍
My 850 doesn't return to idle very quick and I've been thinking it has a air leak but yours and and some in other videos don't either I guess its a mcculloch thing🤔
Its seems thats how they run.
RIPPER!
Oh yeah. She cuts eh?
She cuts eh??
Eh?😀😀😀😀
🇨🇦🔧⚙️⛓👍

Hey what is your email address I was gonna see about getting my saw ported and I have a few questions if you have the time
Hi, thankyou for the enquiry but I'm not taking on any new work at the moment.
If you have any questions my email is on my about page here on youtube.
Yeah that chain isn't sharp at all also the saw barely runs lol
