His biggest mistake was leaving Utah. Imagine Hayward playing the small forward position in Utah with Mitchell and Gobert. I don't know if that would be enough for the championship but would have made it interesting for them in the playoffs.

He got paid and was an exciting player.the ankle injury was brutal.not everybody could come back from that.
he just got injured. thats it. he is still a good player but his rise was just obstructed by injury and reinjury. by the time he healed, his rise was forgotten and has gotten roles not suited to rise up. Also, we dont know if he was fully healed.
however, I cant say offense game looks similar to Jimmy butler. Well balanced. defense-wise, i dont know.

Not true that Jazz couldn’t pay market value. Jazz contract offer was actually higher/longer than Boston. Gordon wanted to play for Brad Stevens and wanted to go east to play with Al Horford and Isaiah Thomas (ironically traded after Hayward signed).

He deserves so much more recognition, essentially snaps his ankle in half and is still capable of being a contributor on many teams. Averaged 20 his first season with Charlotte and 18 on a good Boston team
most likely trouble at home. he had 4 kids and that has to put a lot of stress on the marriage considering his injury may caused a fright of not able to provide for his family, and the fear spiralled.
