Deceptively accurate. People move away, metaphorically and literally. They get new jobs, move house, meet new people, discover new hobbies, styles interests. They reinvent themselves. And don't want to be reminded of their past. Sad but true.
@@JamesMc-pj1hx I don't think she initially meant to disown them - she just lived a great distance. As the years passed, she built a new very different life without any of then and doesn't need or want them in it. I agree it's extreme but plausible.
@blackmountains6645 meh I hardly even think it's plausible. But eastenders have a tendency to do this to families. The slaters were extremely tight knit, but after they left, they were rarely heard of again. That's not real life. Same with the Mitchell's, once Grant left, it was pretty much like he never existed, and him and Phil have pretty much 0 contact. Same with michelle fowler, she left and pretty much never bothered about the family ever again until the replacement came in. I know pauline went to see her several times but the fact she didn't return for mark or Pauline's Funerals was just bonkers and made no logical sense... it's like when you leave Albert Square, you are erased from history. Unless there's a big fallout or a very good reason who the hell doesn't attend their own mothers funeral ??? That's the one thing I take to task with eastenders, how michelle didn't turn up for Pauline's funeral. At least with Arthur, she gave birth on the same day so it's credible she couldn't fly home so soon after doing so. I've also rarely heard Phil mention Ronnie or roxy despite them being his closest family for 10 years. And stories like Cathy faking her death or den faking his and both going no contact with their kids made 0 logical sense either.
I do understand why Zoe wants nothing to do with Kat Zoe never had a peaceful life with Kat and she wanted to have a nice life for herself. I understand Kat was distraught but Zoe deserves a peaceful life too.
They made amends before Zoe left. So this makes no sense. The writers obviously needed a good excuse for Zoe not being there because the actress doesn’t want to come back, so they had to have her hate Kat all over again.
Sorry but Kat is Zoe's mother. You don't turn your back on her. Kat never turned her back on Zoe because what happened wasn't her fault. Storyline made no sense. Zoe burned the cheque Harry left her for her and Kat. They were fine. She wouldn't abandon her. If that boyfriend dumps Zoe, who does she have, who'd she go to? Probably her mother or one of her aunts

Yea but they don't disown their own mothers and family. That's a tad extreme.

I never liked the way Zoe treats Kat.😢
Nor do I!!!!!
Same
Zoe never treated Kat badly, though. They were on good terms when she left. The writers just messed it up here. This was confusing.

Kat didn't deserve that she trying

Often, stories and logic in soaps make no sense. It's how they create drama, I suppose.
