Exactly. This is why I hate when people do “redrafts” and it’s just them ranking the players. They don’t consider the landscape of the team at the time and what positions are already filled. Obviously, there are cases where the teams are so bad they really just need to take the best option, but a lot of times that’s not the case as you get beyond the first 3-5 picks (and sometimes earlier).
5 seasons in and 2018 is looking very similar to 2011 in terms of depth, both in terms of star power and support pieces. Also, something I just thought of: Shai went 11th in his draft... while Klay Thompson went 11th in his draft. Wild frickin' times.

I’m from Canada so whenever I watch the draft and u see a Canadian get drafted I try to become a fan and plus with the 2017-18 draft being a very big one I’m so surprised he fell
As a Cavs fan I remember the Cavs wanting to draft him but Shai didn’t want to play in Cleveland. Still hurts lol I either wanted Trae Young or Shai at that time.

Kevin Knox really had so much potential going into this draft. I definitely thought he would at least be a really competent two way wing but he hasn’t been able to put the pieces together

Yeah really incredible, Both Luka and Trae young, JJJ, Mikal ( who’s looking like a future allstar), Shai (future Superstar), Sexton and plenty of solid to really good role players like Kevin Huerter, Ayton, Divincenzo, RobWill. This will probably go down as the best draft class of the 2010s.

He's not even the biggest steal in the draft. Robert Williams at 27 is crazy. In a redraft I would pick him like 5-7 players over him, but not more. The celtics getting a perenial DPOY candidate while making it to ecf is a cracy draft selection.
