  • Cryptolepas rhachianecti is a species of barnacle that commonly hitches a ride on the skin of gray whales, taking advantage of the transportation and access to food particles in the water. This close-up video shows their feathery feeding appendages, called cirri, that wave through the water to filter-feed on plankton.
