The National is CBC Television's flagship news program. Airing seven days a week, the show delivers news, feature documentaries and analysis from some of Canada's leading journalists.
I was quite surprised by the announcement of Andrew as a new host and find it quite exciting, I moved to Vancouver for school last year and caught a few of his broadcasts. He really brought an energy to the program and it looked like he would make a big leap forward one day although I didn't expect it to be so soon.
I moved away to work overseas and tuned in to watch the National to keep me updated on Canada's news, although I was sad to see Peter retire, I am so incredibly engaged in the "new" (current) format of the show. Thank you for your dynamic reporting and keeping the integrity of CBC News.
CBC AS ALWAYS HAD THAT QUALITY OF PEOPLE WITH THAT SPECIAL TOUCH A REAL MASTERS OD INFORMATION AND EDUCATION, CBC MAKES ME FEEL A PROUD CANADIAN !!
Hey, Ian lived in New Brunswick.. I'm from Bathurst NB myself. Anyways, my neighbor did go to Mount Allison U. in Sackville NB. around the same years as Ian did. Maybe they know each other. I'll ask my friend if he met Ian back in the early '80s.
why don't you have a live stream with your board or make the meeting transparent
you guys are so cool!!
The concern that I have is that this is a "host/hostess by committee" with no clear direction for a program that is struggling for viewership. Yes as time goes on there will be some clarifications as things move forward, but optically I am a bit confused.
2211 views! and counting this one, 3 comments; these talking heads have got their work cut out for them;
Do the guys get dressed in opposite/negative exposures? The suits look like standard issued. The light grey plaid sucked as a two piece. Just should have used the Jacket.
@Rosemary's wardrobe; you doing a great job making her look fantastic. I like the jacket.
@Ian, have you connected with Andre Degrasse over your shared caribbean heritage?
I recently got promoted to fashion designer. I really want to design for Adrienne Arsenault
Cbc news casters
They didn't ask me? I'd have picked people who had at least some journalistic integrity. Not the corporate shills they had!
Look at all the diversity hires
I know right?
Look at the quality...CBC all the better for it.
Top of the heap including the white ones
Ian a diversity hire that been with CBC since the early to mid 90's
these are each fantastic people and brilliant professionals. however...although he's cool Andrew Chang should get his ego in check. pushy is not attractive.
