I'm amazed at Jimin's ability to release these songs that are so different to one another in feel and genre. Jimin's solo discography is all over the place, and yet at the same time, they are all so Jimin because he is such a diverse talent who is brave enough to put himself out there and experiment. This song is such a fun and happy vibe, and I love the dance break. It is seriously a happy pill. Side effects include excessive smiling and head bopping. Let's keep streaming!!

Jimin revealed the full track list for his upcoming second solo album, MUSE. According to billboard article, The seven-song LP due out on July 19 will feature the intro song “Rebirth,” as well as “Interlude : Showtime,” the pre-release song “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” (featuring Loco), “Slow Dance” (featuring Sofia Carson), as well as “Be Mine,” “Who”, (single can now be purchased as presale aside from 2 versions MUSE album), and “Closer Than This” (which dropped in December.)
Jimin, 28, helped write six of the song according to a release, also finally listed as one of the producers for the first 2 songs, which also noted that the announcement from BIGHIT Music featured a vintage feel via images of old-school cassette tapes representing each song, with an overarching theme of “love” connecting all the tracks.
The hip-hop/R&B-leaning focus song, “Who,” was produced by Grammy-nominated singer/producer Jon Bellion, along with Pete Nappi, Tenroc, Pdgogg and GHSTLOOP, with a vibe described as “intense bounce and guitar sound.” In addition, the pre-release song “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” draws inspiration from marching bands, “blending hip-hop elements with the big band sound characterized by a large-scale orchestra, creating an upbeat, lively rhythm and dynamic atmosphere thanks to an assist from South Korean rapper Loco.”
Other contributors to the album include Tommy Brown (Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber), as well as producers Pdogg, GHSTLOOP and EVAN, who also worked on Jimin’s first solo album, 2023’s FACE, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Jimin’s official solo debut came with the 2018 single “Promise.” Five years later, he became the first South Korean soloist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Like Crazy,” followed by FACE‘s “Set Me Free, Pt. 2” reaching No. 30 on the chart.
Jimin is still in the midst of his 18-month mandatory South Korean military service, which he began in December; bandmate Jin recently became the first member of BTS to finish his military service.🙏👍❤🔥🔥🐥😍💥🌟💫✨

lemme tell you the story behind the song in case you don’t know! bc there’s a story behind this song actually and even behind the title of it! "smeraldo" is the name of a fictional flower. this song is like the happy ending of the story that inspired bts’ song "the truth untold": "la città di smeraldo" tales place in a small town in Italy in the 1500s-1600s. it's a story about an ugly man who hides in an old castle alone. bc of his looks he got a lot of hate while growing up and he never opened his heart to anyone, even if anyone ever tried he simply hides in anger. his happiness was the plants and flowers of his garden. one day, a woman appeared near his castle and she jumped over the garden and took a flower when he was sleeping at night. this actually kept happening many nights and finally, one day the man pretended to be asleep and watched this woman who was stealing his flowers, but he didn't get mad on her and was waiting for her every night to come back and steal flowers. and one day after following her, he realized she was selling the stole flowers for living. then the man desperately wanted to help the woman. but he was afraid she could be terrified by the way he looks, that she will not like his looks and will never come here again. so he came to a conclusion to let her steal flowers so he can see her everyday. the man decided to make a flower that doesn't exist on this planet. so the woman can seek them at a huge price. he began to make the flower in his garden. and after many unsuccessful attempts, the man finally made the flower for his love
called "Smeraldo Flower". but the woman suddenly stopped coming. no matter how long he was waiting the woman never showed up. he was so upset & later he eventually found out that the woman had died. he didn't got the courage,and lost his only love there. BTS used this "Smeraldo flower" so many times to represent this beautiful love too! this song is like a happy ending for them that they never got in the original story! hope that helps you understand! :)

Always appreciate Jimin’s ability to masterfully combine interesting instrumentation w/ Hip Hop, Ballad style vocals, and Rap, all wrapped by super catchy hooks and melodies. ❤️ how his lyrics are deceptively simple but have 2-3 underlying meanings - have to listen to his music w/ both ears and brains. For instance - “SGMB reveals a story about the world where all the hidden feelings of the listener are accepted and embraced. Smeraldo flowers signify “the truth that one couldn’t say out loud.” Song urges listeners to embrace their truth because in ‘Smeraldo Garden,’ the marching band embraces everyone’s authenticity and feelings.” (Also ties into BTS’s song “The Truth Untold”.)
Some reactors have acted like this is just some goofy summer song, disappointed he didn’t do something like “Set Me Free Pt. 2”. I think it’s great he’s unafraid to share another side and give us pure joy! He does what he wants despite industry expectations (like singing live in a MV)… can totally see The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart Band” influence.
Also, interesting note on the Smeraldo flower: Jimin collaborated with producers Pdogg, Ghstloop, and Evan, who contributed to his solo album, Face. During its prod, the group casually began calling themselves the Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, the playful title eventually becoming a reality.
