The WNBA's greatest nemesis is themselves. They cry about wanting more people to support them but they won't even support their own. CC is someone who is likeable, talented, marketable, and will put butts in seats at games but too many of the old guard are just jealous the spotlight won't be on them so they would rather tear down everyone then elevate their peer.

Diana's points are valid for sure. It's just the total disdain in her delivery that makes it seem more personal than MAYBE it is.
We also have to understand that college is a cult, and Taurasi was in Cultville, UConn, so again, when referencing Paige, the favoritism towards the UConn connection shows up in Taurasi's voice, meaning that if Paige played for Iowa and Clark played for UConn, Taurasi's comments would be completely reversed even though she would have been speaking about the exact same players. (A big part of it may not be related to the Caitlin/Paige debate, but rather the UConn vs non-UConn angle.)
Peer pressure from her UConn connection, whether real or perceived, I'm sure has an effect on how she views, and vocally translates those views on audio/video, referring to the non-UConn star Clark and the UConn star Paige.

Both sides have built her up so much that anything less than complete and utter dominance will have people calling her a failure. And because of the way she’s been put on that pedestal, every team she plays is going to be going that much harder when guarding her. I won’t be surprised if she has decent stats to start because she’s going to be played super tough. Then later on, when defenses start to open up for her a bit more, she might get to the level so many believe she’s capable of.

CC has fans because, first and foremost, she loves the game! The WNBA is full of unknowns because most of the players love their wokeness more than the game. They love their identities. Fans love players who play sports. They don’t love players who play politics. These other WNBA players you mentioned as greats were not and are not greats because they are agenda driven activists first and basketball players second. One thing I will say though is this guy did talk about "pay disparity" and that NBA rookies make more the wnba rookies. Yet the reason for this is 1, as we all know, the wnba loses 10 million each year, and besides that, is subsidized by the NBA. And to say its unfair for women to be payed less, is completely an understatement. In fact, if you look at it, sabrina is making more than most wnba rookies, and, numbers wise, is making more on percentage value if you look at the numbers than 80% of NBA rookies of comparing to revenue to salary. So, final answer, CC could up help up the salary of every wnba player by increased watching.

Jordan vs the Bad Boys was magic. What rivalries has the WNBA had? They are too busy trying to have solidarity and never realize that rivalries are what brings in viewers.
