I vote for keeping it open as your office, especially since you don’t need extra pantry space. How nice it is that you can be doing work in your office but still be connected to what’s going on in kitchen/ family room.
You are so right, having the same flooring everywhere makes it feel more spacious.

I think your kitchen layout is perfect. The hidden office/overflow room is awesome. I absolutely love the placement. And the door next to the office helps add to the feel of flow with the rest of the house while the wall still gives the kitchen it’s own space.
I really do like having the separate spaces! It feels like you get to "go" somewhere!

I'm in love with this kitchen. 🤍 I really love the layout, taking out the uppers and simply having a floor to ceiling appliance/pantry wall is the best design/layout I've ever seen for a kitchen. Your colors really sell me on the look. I like a hidden refrigerator look, which you opted out of, but your it matches the oven/sink so it works as an accent color.
I'm glad you left it open. It seems like it flows better than having them all like cubby off. Plus you can walk into your kitchen and see the focal point.
We tried blocking it off and not using it before the renovation and were so relieved when we opened the traffic flow back up!
Do the walk-in pantry! It's a hot re-sale feature & also provides space for those that want an extra deep freezer for large cuts of meat or turkeys etc. Love your design aesthetic! Also, you really look beautiful in all your blouses!

Your kitchen is fabulously designed, even though it’s modern it’s also warm and cozy ! I love my kitchen too and it’s not huge either. I would close the space cause I love pantries. Thanks for sharing.
Omg. We live in an 1890's farmhouse in UPNY and although I do not prefer modern, I just love your kitchen and your space. I tend to be eclectic so, I suppose that makes sense. Have been here since 2009, totally had to gut the home and bring it back to life but have NOT done the kitchen yet....ran out of $$$ and my husband brought back the "cheaper than Walmart cabinets" that were here from the previous owners...i STILL cringe. Love that you kept your office the way you did....it all looks so amazing!!! Makea me want to gather myself up and figure it all out! Thank you so much for your inspiration!!!

I love your kitchen, Valentina! Also, I personally like the multiple entry points... they allow more light and energy to flow through the space. The larger pantry might be nice for storage, but I think you’d miss the light and accessibility.
I think so too. I just get a little envious when I visit other's kitchens with the big pantries, but maybe one day we will have another house to try more ideas on!

I just ran across your channel and I love it. Your home is beautiful. I'm in the process of house hunting, and the first thing I ask myself when I go in is "Can I use the space for the look I'm going for? Seeing your renovations gives me so much excitement about creating my own space.
While I share your love of walk-in pantries, I definitely would NOT have put one in your space. Not only would you lose the sight line to your son's homework progress, you'd lose all the light coming from that side. Light wins every time.

Organizing videos in your space would be great since you are so organized. I also LOVE the European concept of bars and cafes w the tables outside, it’s really about the experience and slowing down to enjoy life. Can I come over for coffee and cake now? 😉. If you don't NEED a walk-in pantry, I am happy for you that you left it open and bypassed the excess. :) I also feel the pain with getting rid of existing beautiful real hardwood. Thanks for the encouragement it will be okay! :)

Love your kitchen! I think if you had done a closed in wall for your dream pantry, it would have ruined your style and flow. I think closed pantrys are awsome for those that have large families with a space to easily accommodate excessive amounts of stuff to store. I think minimal is much more efficient in today's busy lifestyles. I definitely think your design is gorgeously done! The beauty the natural light offers to your gorgeous view of your staircase is priceless. Love your office placement and dual functionality! Open concept has to much commotion and no cozy areas to enjoy. I think it would make decorating harder to find a style to live with when you enjoy changing it often. But I'm not a professional designer ;) that being said, your home is amazing and I can't wait until your able to offer us design advice, I appreciate you mentioning in others comments. I just found your channel a month ago and love it so much, I've been watching all your videos. 💗

Closed it up and have the walk-in pantry . However, the door to the pantry should be transparent so you're able to see in. That would be so amazing. It's a dream of mine...hehe

I am in Europe and I am inspired by your kitchen!!! I want it so bad. I am remodelling my apartment which is under the roof of the house and 2 walls are slanted and it's footprint is a weird shape too. Not much space for upper cabinets. There is a big chimney in the middle of it from the fireplace in the apartment below (which is kinda cool). It's giving me nightmares but I am sooo inspired to make it the most beautiful room in the house still, because of you :D
I SO completely understand!! It was such a drag seeing so many cool designs that were squared off and simple but in the end I kept at it and ended up with something that even a year later still takes my breath away!

I enjoy your opinion and style. I know this is way after you did this video but I wanted to vote on your kitchen doors. I would close it off. Albeit maybe when your son is older. It would add so much to that area I believe. Thank you for your viewpoints and advice. We just moved from California to Alabama. Remodeling our home is wayyyy more than I ever thought it would be. Especially with COVID etc.
