- In this challenge campaign, I'll be conquering the entire world without using any units, army or vassals - only my main character.
Rules for the campaign:
- Cannot command units in battle (no leading
own/allied troops - garrison for defense ok)
- Executions can only be used as a Last
Resort (my goal is to not execute a single person)
- Retreat from battle is allowed, but cannot
restock ammo (arrows/javs must be swapped
out for different gear set)
- No smithing for profit allowed, only weapons for personal use
- No hiring companions or spouse (not even as governor)
- Being vassal allowed, but cannot have vassals as a king
- No exploits of any kind allowed (influence glitching, etc.)
- Some cheese allowed... maybe...

It's a mod called bannerlord coop, seems to be a serious project with a team of programmers behind it

the thing about horses in this game is, the faster your horse is, the longer it takes for it to reach max speed, and when you stop completely on a noble mount, you're giving the enemy a huge speed advantage.
also ....steppe bandits are definitely not using sumpter horses, their parties move on the map almost at the same speed as caravans, meaning if they have horses they must be mounts, they might have some sumpter horses in inventory though hence why they drop them.
I wonder if he was holding w or tapping. It accelerates quicker from tapping it.
They default to steppe horse iirc

@@StratPlays No I think when you dropped a horse b/c of herding penalty you dropped a Steppe Horse they dropped right before. See 21:07 in the video.

Great content. What mods are you using for this playthrough? Also, you can double tap the 'forward' key to gee-up your horse (useful for last minute dodges on charging cav when an archer).

I love how he interpreted the symbol of Tanit wrong but ended up with the right vibe. (Tanit was the strongest female goddess and one of the major gods of Carthage)
I personally found out that in Khuzait tournaments when you get mounted glave fight, its actually better to go head on with the enemy and do a thrust as its faster than a swing obviously. You will need two good thrust hits landed, but you will more likely to win if you just thrust.
Your horse is faster at full speed in a straight line. If you turn or slow down to below full speed and have to accelerate back up while the enemy is still at full speed you can get caught.
Steppe Bandits ride Steppe Horses. They're not high tier, they might be the cheapest of the basic mounts (don't remember if that or the midland palfrey is cheaper), but they have decent speed and good maneuverability in exchange for terrible hp and charge damage. And since the game tracks momentum instead of just speed, every time you slow down to get an easier shot and the enemy continues trying to close to melee they're going to get a lot closer to you. Mix that with some basic flanking, and it's easy for one rider to get within spear reach while you focus in on a different group. Also I think most of your bowshots that go off target happen because you lose patience and release before you finish drawing; the reticle seemed like it was still getting smaller rapidly.

The bandits were faster because Strat kept slowing down and didn't realize it took time to accelerate while the bandits were moving full speed. Also the bandits had steppe horses, his canterion charger only had 5 speed more, which doesn't make much of a difference without high riding skill

I played this style a lot in realm of thrones. If you wanna speed up things a little bit and make it more fun, get a crush through mod that allows multiple hits per spear stab. Xorberas Legacy I think it is called. Also the new versions of RoT include really heavy giant arrows that can impale multiple targets that are directly behind each other.

why are you fighting this bandits? bandits on aserai territory also on mounts but do not have bows - so they match more easily. or these guys have better loot?
They have a chance to drop a decent bow early game so I was trying to get one of those - no such luck though :(

Steppe Bandits actually aren't equipped with Sumpter Horses (the pack animals) they're equipped with Steppe Horses (67 manoeuvre, 45 speed)
But you're right about them dropping the rubbish horses :)

i did this slightly diffrent on a playthrough! i allowed myself to retreat and return to the match but only if I road off the red and had enough bundles ov javlins/arrows to do a full refill (1 bundle for one bundle which I threw away when the battle was over).
i did take prisoners. animals, goods since I was trying to max out 330 on all my skills by end game. i kept the looters to a minimum (think 45 with 45 'mount' horses, 20 mules gave me 7.1 speed) this let me be mobile and trade goods getting trade up to 330 before I finished.
fun to see others obsessed with this game. wonder if it will ever be finished?

I'm using RTS Camera, better time, better smithing and equip best item. I might have a couple others, but I can't remember. It's all just QoL stuff, nothing that changes gameplay

BTW, why do you not use RBM mod and/or hide the terrible fat aiming "point", as in some earlier campaigns? Perhaps too difficult, especially on horseback? (I always play without the aim device, bows and crossbows are a real challenge, while javelins are fine)

Bro, I don’t know if you found out why bandits were so fast with horses....I have a vague idea.
Bandits in high difficulties such as (veteran and challenger) instead of being more “intelligent” only have their perks multiplied.
For example: the looters have 40 handling but with the difficulty Vet increases 1.5x and in the last difficulty increases 2x
In other words, the difficulty does not exist, they only have more perks than it says, they caught you because they had more Riding
Ps: this is just a guess 😅
I can’t tell if you using this but it doesn’t look like you are. If you double tap the forward key while mounted your horse will accelerate a lot faster. Helps keep enemy cavalry off of you while shooting bows.
I tried this and the problem I had was not being able to finish sieges because I couldn’t select people for the keep battle. I had to leave and give up all loot and xp whenever I got to that point
Yeah you have to approach sieges a bit differently - I tried to position myself towards the rear of their fief so I could pick people off as they retreated before they got to the keep (usually easier to do with arrows and an arrow barrel near by). We'll get to that part eventually :D
You also can't initiate sieges if you have no troops, so you have to join an ongoing one. You can then leave if the enemy fall back to the keep, as they'll only have a couple of dozen against usually several hundred on your side (unless the siege is a massacre for both sides), and let the AI autoresolve the assaults (not like you're going to be able to loot, anyways, as you didn't initiate the siege).
i remember there was a player on pendor that usually played solo, when it was possible to acess the inventory he had a bunch of reserve arrows and 3 or 4 shields, he ran around until the enemy was out of arrows and then went for the kills...every battle was soo long
Warband has an inventory box by where you spawn, which you can use to refill arrows (or maybe you have to have new bags in your inventory. I know in the original Mount&Blade, if you accessed the supplies box your equipped arrow bags were refilled). I used to run a solo horse archer in the TLD mod. There is an elven bow you can use from horseback, and orc shields are super flimsy (usually break in a single hit with high archery and the right bow)...not to mention that a mearas could bonk orcs to death at full speed with 10 riding...

I was using RTS camera, better time, equip best item and better smithing continued. I think character reloader also works and RBM should work. There are probably more, but I haven't done much this patch besides this campaign.
For Khuzait finals with the Polearms. Kill the horse, dismount a bit away, take a few steps, NPC runs to horse and while saddling kill him.

I swap to first person in siege defense frequently, it helps with aiming
@@jackhazardous4008 I love being in first person for pretty much everything. It makes me feel like I’m part of my army rather than someone floating above it. It’s especially fun for cavalry charges.

39:38 for this fight I get off my horse and then I stab his horse when he attacks which then makes his horse do an animation which doesn't let him block, so you then do an over head hit and win.
I found a way to cheese the ai in tournements you gotta use the rotating ur screen to hit earlier it does less damage but if u find the right way to do it it never fails
