Have they finally fixed the atrocious MIDI clock/external instrument issues which makes recording hardware with consistent and accurate timing completely impossible? When I emailed them about this they literally told me "its a bug, sorry". Really hope this bug was fixed because its my main DAW, and constantly having to readjust these settings has been really driving me insane for years.
In the thinking box on this one. My wishlist includes
ARA2, midi clips selection patterns (e.g. selecting every fourth hihat beat in a clip), resizeable instrument/effect panel, cpu-load per track in numbers, performance, performance, performance.
Love it. And i have to say. Marc, you are an excellent addition so Sinee. Looking forward for more content. 🙌

They made the meters in between plugins bigger yaaaay!
Some nice extra features, but for that price???? That should include inbuildt pitch correction incl. harmonisation, chord and keyswitch lane and a fx modulator like Cubase. Don't need more synths and blipblop features, but more professional DAW features!

Wow, I didn't even know this was in the works. Some nice improvements there, but I really would like to see Ableton invest in a preset browsing standard API for all VSTs. Something similar to Native Instruments' NKS standard with more fluid device control. You shouldn't need an Arturia or Native Instruments midi controller to have full control of their plugins. It should be handled by the DAW in my opinion. That's the upgrade I'm waiting for.
I honestly wish ableton supported NKI!! would make sense to tap into that existing ecosystem rather than coming up with a new standard!
Bitwig Studio has this feature so it can load the native preset format of any plugin that implements preset discovery API.

Hopefully! Not sure if the API will be opened up to users this way but would be dope.
Yes. You will be able to create Generators and Transformations with Max for Live. Euclidean, as you have seen, was made with Max for Live.
So you can export Abelton to other countries now?

Seems like a huge step in the right direction! Do you know if it's possible in Live 12 to hide tracks? Was always kind of annoying in Live because I had to put them in a group and deactive but it's still visible.. Thanks
Didn`t discover an option to hide tracks. Would like to see that as well in a future update.

Let's pray they also update the interface for the Ableton Limiter. It's one of the weakest points of the whole Ableton ecosystem and a good limiter is obviously a completely core part of any comprehensive DAW. 🙏

Does ABE (spectrum) analyze your sample HD to be able to find similar sounds? Or is it just pre made "tagging" ?
Ableton analyzes the sample folders you include in the sidebar for their similarity search feature. Tagging of your own samples is done by the user.
Is it now possible to automate drum rack variations with clip’s automation ????
Not in the current Beta, would be great though. But there`s a new M4L Performance Pack that can do something similar, gonna feature this in a future video.
It looks good, but maybe not 159E good. Was there any improvement in the stability/CPU usage? I just hope it's not worse
What are you looking for? There aren’t any main issue related to cpu and stability. I run Mac OS M1 and works flawlessly
Is it possible to make each element detachable ? So we can drag each into several monitors?
The mixer / clip-elements are not detachable but you can have session and arrangement views simoultaneously on separate displays

They do indeed! You just have to import your sample folder into Ableton`s sidebar

It`s an optional built-in theme. The usual green meters are still available.

@@SINEEGlobal yes, I also have a beta, but it doesn’t have such a theme, or rather there is such a theme, but the level indicators in it are green, and yours are blue.

It`s there now, just named differently. Flatten & freeze is now one function.

I love Ableton but every update is seems like it caters more to techno / house music producers.
It’s always been since the beginning it was originally the custom performance software of a techno duo.

How's the CPU handling Live 12? Better or worse than Live 11? This is really all that I care about.
Feels overall snappier and quicker, didn`t do a full CPU-comparison yet though.

It`s in closed Beta for now, the retail version will be available in early 2024

Please there's only one thing i need in this update. A midi SLICE tool!! Speak to the Ableton gods.... Tell them this is a MUST!!!
It`s there. You can chop MIDI now within the clip editor by hovering over notes and using key commands. Even in different proportional divisions.

Yes but because you can now save searches they are not so important.
Yup, but there`s a new workaround. You can apply tags to your samples, plugins etc. and add that tag search as a quick-access button / folder in the sidebar
I have 300 plugins and I know there are other people who have more. 7 is nothing to group these plugins (only for compressors I could use 5 or 6). Hopefully that new tag system is working. I asked already the Ableton support why it is not possible to add more collections? This is one of the easiest things…
I really like what they did with the piano roll. But is this a major update? The piano roll, some few workflow improvements and some other few devices? I don't get why there are people getting hyped on this update. This is like a quarter from what I would expect from a major update. Seems that with every new major update, Ableton is adding less and less workflow improvements and updates. No need for new devices, we're having better 3rd party plugins already.

Typical Ableton. Dropping this around black Friday. The DAW is pretty good.. still has a long way to go. The company however always seems to leave me with a bad taste in my mouth.
My sample folder has over 100k samples, am I supposed to manually tag each and every one of them, couldnt they have come up with a better way? SMH
The Midi Tools are rubbish, they generate nothing useful.
The need to get on the ball , they are lagging, all this Ui stuff , and some Tweeks , is just don't justify for me to buy a new update , you will have to do better , look at the update of FL studio it's light years ahead , mastering online , split audio, buy oops inside the doe ton more Tweeks , I mean daam , this update look like nothing in compare to FL
One thing everybody's waiting for and they still can't realise it: how to import ALL vst's from old Ableton version to the new one without re-installing them from scratch (The biggest pain in the ass ever)...???? :) Why the hell we can't do it in 2023....???
Hey, Ableton automatically re-scans your VST folders when upgrading, so no re-install for plug-ins needed.

Thx of course i mean not the case of Ableton's upgrade itself...haha.....i mean the case when you have to reinstall the whole daw with All plugins on your new computer!(when you move all your library and all your musical stuff from old pc to the new one....so you have to re-install all the plugins....

That`s something no DAW-developer has control over unfortunately. It comes down to individual plugin-developers having to make that process as streamlined as possible.
@@technodust7833 Are you on Windows? On a Mac, I use the Migration Assistant, and everything gets transferred. And even if I set up a new Mac and install Ableton from scratch, I could still copy the plugins and libraries and everything manually and have it available after a rescan in Ableton, Natavie Access, and so on.

The sole reason I don’t use Ableton is it’s pi$$ poor handling of CPU power. If I see posts somewhere reporting that this major issue has been resolved or at least addressed, I’ll check it out. Otherwise, it’s a no go.
Never had any issues at all. Just running m1 Mac and works flawlessly whatever you throw at it. So I don’t think this is an issue at all at the moment.
@@arjanpetersensame. Running m1 MacBook Pro and currently have 150 tracks in the song I’m working on, as well as countless heavy duty plug-ins running with 16x oversampling. Of course I’m not running all 150 tracks at once, but can mix between them all in real-time with confidence.

I have a 10 year old PC with a i7 processor, 32GB of DDR2 ram and SSD hard drive for windows. It runs tons of tracks and 3rd party vsts with no problem. (Ableton 11). You may just need to optimize your settings, or upgrade your rig. Parts are crazy cheap. Been wanting to build a new PC but this thing keeps kicking ass lol

If you choose to use the midi seed as is without any further altering, yes. Which is your decision as a user, not the software's.
