As a brown man I mind myself looking at white people sometimes but I realize I’m wrong. Tom MacDonald is a real dude I respect him and realize that everyone isn’t bad.
There is a video of him setting the scene with the actors ,very professional.
I especially love how he said everything with a deep respect and honesty with every person there. One of his statements particularly struck me, that his message "comes from an angry place but not a hateful place." That distinction is critically important too, for any crimes or abuse committed against anyone for no justifiable reason naturally leads to anger, and that anger needs to be expressed and heard. Tom bravely, expertly and beautifully describes what every good-hearted white person has felt since identity politics took off, and I thank him for it.

Everyone wants to feel validated when they take a stance, and when they're surrounded by opposition it's just easier to say "Yea, what they said" and walk away. It's ugly when someone takes an opposing side to the majority, because everyone looks at you like you're crazy for disagreeing with everyone else. It's also known as the mob mentality. You might be a calm person who wants to peacefully protest, but when you surround yourself with rioters, it's so easy to join in the destruction. Being surrounded by that mentality when you're on the other side can be absolutely terrifying, because that mob will eat you alive if they find out.

I thought this scene interesting. Tom just tried to give this heartfelt explanation and rather than start a conversation, they threw wads of paper. They didn't listen to anything he said. We need to listen, not hear, listen to each other.

Joking or being sarcastic with your loved ones/friends about your racial mixed stereotypes within groups/family I think is a thing alot of us do. At least I know we do too lol, I am asian and my husband is white (mostly Irish) but we joke about stereotypes all the time. Im also wheelchair bound because of a car accident from 7 yrs ago and we joke about that too. It's out of love and sarcasm, never out of hate or anything along those lines. My husband is my rock, I have experienced true racism in this country and as I have grown have learned to wear my stereotypes like armor and taught my children to do the same.

I've said it before, you have the best analytical breakdown channel for any music videos in any genre. Please teach these people who are making videos like yours.
Dude some of them literally just play the goddamn video back, like- 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘢𝘢𝘵 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣?!! None of em breaking it down or even coming close to matching Knox’s level! What's even more disappointing after watching their lame, weak ass reaction, is seeing their sub count- like how?!
This is the only reaction channel I follow now, and for the exact reason you stated. But yeah, it's less of a reaction channel as it is about technical, lyrical and production breakdown. It's bloody awesome.
The thing I’ve learned about the Internet is, people act like they’re so above all the criticism and things that we talk about when it comes to prejudice, when all actuality we’re all exactly the same, but those people so ready to criticize just don’t have their life on film. I bet you that everyone who doesn’t like Tom MacDonald, probably is exactly the type of people that he’s trying to reach and change their minds about the world.
Anytime I hang with friends and shit starts getting political or racial the thing that gets me fired up more than anything is when their argument starts with “You people” or “Your people”.
I didn’t choose my color, genetics or family. I chose my friends not my family. I’ve dropped family because of their views.
My family is conservative and we live in Appalachia. None of us are racist and you’d never guess I was a national beta contestant for the science test(if you haven’t heard the stereotypes, basically everyone in Appalachia is stupid regardless), but people literally don’t care about your views of skin color, they always label conservatives as racists. It’s a very scary issue because conservatives are not inherently racist, cultists are.

I am a musician, not a rapper, but I very much appreciate watching other people make their art which is vastly different than mine. There’s something extremely powerful and relatable in watching a fellow artist express their passions and gifts in ways that not only connects us as human beings but participating in the very thing they seem to be created to do. It’s inspirational. I also appreciate that you break down the meaning as well as the technical part of his art/video production.
