My grandmother has this same condition. And seeing this hits home because even as an older woman, I hate seeing my grandmother trying to cover herself completely. My grandmother refuses to wear short sleeves. It will literally be 90 degrees outside and she will wear long sleeve shirts because she's so self conscious of her white skin patches. And it breaks my heart because my grandmother is the most beautiful woman ever ❤️ I wish she had the confidence these women have. I wish there weren't so many bullies in this world that bully people over medical conditions they can't help. I have alopecia and get bullied for that all the time.

You know vitiligo is so close to my heart. My Mother had vitiligo. She was teased and called a dalmatian all of her life. She bleached, wore makeup, and etc to cover it up. I never knew about it until I was like 7 and she woke up late and I saw her. She coveted her face trying to tell me "not to look at Mommy right now." When I replied, "Mom, you're still beautiful," she instantly starting crying. She cited me as her main inspiration for having the courage to go in public without covering up her vitiligo. People with vitiligo, need more role models. I wish the people with vitiligo would understand how beautiful they truly are.

My teacher has this skin condition and she's doing great in life. Has a husband, kids, a steady job and most importantly does what she loves. I don't even think about it when I look at her, and she doesn't even give any fucks about it the condition. She rocks shorts and Tees with confidence, and I really hope everyone with this condition does. Stay happy y'all!

This gets to me. I have really bad eczema. I know what's it's like to be judged and feel uncomfortable in your own skin. And it's nice when you see someone like you and know your not alone. My little cousin has it too. When I met her the first time she grabbed my hand and saw the eczema. Tears streamed down her face and she was smiling. She said "Your just like me." I've never been so touched.
And this comment touched me as well I too have eczema and in the past few months it has gotten bad which led me to be really uncomfortable with my skin I look up to her and even ppl like you who write things like this because it just helps Thank you I really needed to see this ❤️

I also had an extreme eczema since I was 3 months old, and everyone always made fun of me, I had seen 3 dermatologists, I had tried tons of creams, cortisol creams, natural oils that helped but couldn't fix the problem.
Now I'm 18, I almost have none eczema, and that's because I've completely changed my diet, and I always check what I put on my skin, I don't put to much creams and/or chemicals. I mostly use natural products.
For me it was especially the diary and some meats that had caused my eczema, so I know it's not easy to completely change a diet, but if it worked for me maybe it'll work for you :)
