I’ve always enjoyed the Trainer Galleries and glad I held on to them even though it took some time to appreciate. It also will be great in the future for box values and box breaks because there is more opportunity for pulling valuable cards out off a booster box say if someone is doing a box break of Brilliant Stars 10 years from now.
Yeah it’s nice overall to know everything in the set has potential rather than just a few cards 😎
I played a ton of Pokemon Sword on the Switch with my kid and we both enjoyed the Vmax element of the game. I suppose that's why I really love the Vmax Alt-art cards in the SWSH era. I was thinking about your reaction video to the Jluv investment stream when you mentioned that people who only invest in sealed pokemon might miss out on owning great cards that you can look at whenever you want. The joy of having something in your hand is important, too. Lately, I've mainly opened up some 151 packs and bought SWSH era booster boxes to keep sealed. I haven't really gotten much new for the shelf and so I'm saving up for the Vmax Espeon and the rest of the eeveeloutions. I think the Vmax cards display really well together. It's nice to have a hobby goal to work on over next few months. Great video, Orion. I hope you're doing well man.

Definitely makes sense that people who played sword shield games and enjoyed the Vmax mechanic would like the art form 😎🙏🏼 also I do think it’s smart to grab those cards you love now before going for boxes. Boxes aren’t going anywhere but the big chase cards are becoming scarcely listed which is something I didn’t expect
Literally early March I bought the Umbreon vmax and V from the brilliant stars trainer gallery for only like, $22 and $13 respectively, and now they’re probably a combined -$100 together. Absolutely crazy how those cards have only just now gotten attention
Yeah I was so hype when I pulled the Umbreon Vmax especially since I haven’t pulled another since then, it’s definitely an underrated art and should be more appreciated- I think it has to do with the trainer in the card too… 🤷🏻♀️
I can't sell my collection I thought about it several times I get way too much joy or entertainment from the hobby. Only time I feel like a kid day to day life 😂 Completed brilliant stars by the time Crown zenith dropped pulled hella doubles in the process traded some I've been holding most of the top alt arts from swsh besides a handful of them I plan on buying a few like the Blaziken, giratinas, eventually. I always wanted to complete the tgs just for binders.
Im also thinking the alt arts are gonna be retracting soon and feel like I should sell the ones I have now

I prefer well centered cards with very minor whitening.
I mean that’s the vast majority of people so I get it, but having zero whitening and being off center is a 9 I’ll buy any day 😎
@@orionsiresactually i should say that's how i feel with vintage. Modern im with you. I can deal with a little oc but it has to be clean. Vintage i can deal with a little whitening because well it's vintage
I agree totally. Off center you can immediately tell why it’s not a 10 vs some microscopic scuff on one corner on the back.
When it came to S&S I just had to get all the alts in psa10 and I did. But man did it burn me out. Do I regret it? Hell no!
Got them when the market was at its bottom and now my collection has doubled. 😊
Going in to S&V I’m now getting any Sir that I want (not all like in S&S) just the one that i absolutely love in a psa 10 and I will be collecting all the ir for the binder with the exception of the ones that absolutely blow my socks off cus they are so cool in spa 9.

I think the Gengar from Fusion Strike is the nicest Alt Art in SWSH. Surprised to hear you don't like it. Just got the Lugia Alt Art from ST in a 10 yesterday for the store.

I wish more people would preach about psa 9 cards. They are still very nice cards. It seems like people are almost ashamed of them sometimes
Yeah there’s a stigma with modern that a 9 is pointless because it’s the same price as raw but some people want the cards still and want them graded and protected but without the price shock of a 10 😎
Paldea evolved etb promo is weak since there are 2 stamped versions of the card. Could be a play in mass but the no stamp will never eclipse the game promo or the pc stamp 😢
Yeah no I totally get that. Still love the promo but even I can see there’s going to be a long time until that card sees appreciation. 🤷🏻♀️
@@orionsires I just like it less than other ETB promos as of late since it's not exclusive to the ETB.
I agree with the 9s, I sometimes buy alt arts in a 9 but I make sure there is no whitening issues.
Yep slightly OC is fine by me. People will say there’s no value in a graded 9 but like so many grails before modern, 9’s are always more affordable and become the standard when 10’s are out of reach 😎
@@orionsires plus a NM copy is so much more valuable, you can always crack and sell raw but the slab will likely outperform raw over time. Especially when picking up a copy off TCGPlayer will likely only be an 8 or a 9 quality.
The only singles besides alt arts I've been going after for the past few months are trainer galleries.
I’m still missing quite a few from crown zenith, might start opening etb’s for our lives to hunt those final raw cards. The textured TG cards are arguably the best IMO. If only they all had texture! 🤷🏻♀️
