A Thousand Meter Journey Through My New Saigon Hood

- In this travel vlog, I take a thousand meter (aka 1 km) journey walking around my new neighborhood in Phu Nhuan District, Saigon, Vietnam.
This district has a much more local Vietnamese vibe to it than my previous District 1 neighborhood, and I’m excited to share adventurous vlogs throughout this neighborhood during my stay here.
This purpose of this journey, walk, and vlog, was to get a lay of the land and to get a better sense of what this Thich Quang Duc Street looked like and had to offer. It seems like there are tons of alleys ripe for exploration, friendly Vietnamese locals, and lots of different restaurants to try out some authentic Vietnamese food. I’m very excited about this new environment and opportunity for exploration.
I’ll be here for a few days before I travel to a coastal province for Tet Holiday. After that, I will return here for a period of time. I will make vlogs about all of these experiences.
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoyed this travel vlog.

Hi Tyler ,Thanks you always amazing Looking Around the City Saigon.❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍🍺🍺
Now we're talking! :) love the walk around the city
It’s nice to see you happy and more energetic.
So happy to see you out and giving us a tour of your new turf 😊.…thank you Tyler
At first I thought to myself wow the street looks quite familiar. Omg I didnt know you previously resided in my neck of the wood Thich Quang Duc Phu Nhuan
So cool!
Nice new neighborhood for you. I like the less traffic vibe there. The nail and shower thing. Mai my Vietnamese wife. Loves to go and have her hair washed. Especially after a long day of work. Or a day out. Mai wife and I. And her family went to Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City yesterday. To visit her father’s grave. By the time we got back home in district 1. She was ready to have her hair washed. So we stopped by a local place like that.
awesome...nice to have the pampering experience sometimes
Omg that is the temple I used to go there every Sunday with my family
Hi Tyler,
Time looks about 2:22pm, awesome to see you out and about in your new hood, it has all that one needs. Ty for the video, have a great day!✌️🤚
Absolutely amazes me that you're able to read and translate a couple of stores during this vlog, I'm happy to see you smile again.. chuc mung my friend 😊
Good to see you in form! Great resolution with the Vid.👌
thank you!
It's a Caodist temple originated from Tay Ninh province.
Happy Tet to you and your family, new year, new luck, new achievements
Great Vlog👍
Song at the end made me chuckle Good content.
It’s good to see you out and thanks for the tour of your new district!
This street has really good "bo la lot" restaurant
Wow Saigon.
Love just wondering the back alleys of random neighbourhoods in Vietnam. Great video!
Love the walking video. Please make the walking video longer, because I walk on my treadmill while watching these walking video and pretend that I am back in Saigon, and walking around lost and exploring new places on feet.
Haha that’s awesome I should do something like that too
@@BigTimeBentley It really makes the time on the treadmill go by faster. I often watch the walking videos on YT of the various cities in Japan. So much fun walking Japan. If you can make your walking videos of Vietnam about an hour long in 4K quality, they will be evergreen videos that will gets viewers forever for you. Thanks again, and keep up the great contents.
@@soidoggystyle2030, wow, you don't want much, do you! Can you imagine how time consuming it would be to film enough footage for a one hour video, and then do the editing.
@@ChrissieSM I'm just providing a feedback to Tyler as one of his regular viewers. It is up to him to make the videos that he wants to make. He has all the creative control on his YT channel. That is why YT have a comment section, so that the viewers can give feedbacks to the contents creators.
This was a fantastic goosey gander, and you were looking and sounding on top form, which was lovely to see
You know about History Vietnam... very good...
Thank you Tyler - that was a really interesting video. I'm very much looking forward to your alley explorations...Indiana!! 😜

Regarding the shampoos at the nail salons, I’ve noticed some of the nail salons have a huge menu which often includes massage, facials, hair treatments, etc. My wife and her sister get their hair shampooed often which usually includes a head and neck massage. Seems pretty nice if you want pampering. 🤷🏻♂️
Have just moved to phu nuhan myself and think it's great. If I see you about, I'll say hello.
awesome!
The pagoda from your view in the previous video is different one from that temple, the pagoda near your place can be seen at 29:04. The temple earlier in the video is a Caodist temple, a local religion in Southern Vietnam
Ah ok thank you
You are at your best again , keep speaking Vietnamese as it helps me when I come over to see me partner
3.27pm
It's 3:42 pm.

"Say No to plastic waste/ trash" is what the sign says.
The religious institute is for Cao Dai religion, a kind of Taoism. It's similar to Bahai'i religion except that Bahai'i is more toward Christianity whereas Cao Dai is closer to Buddhism. You can search more of that on the internet.
Thank you!
Time check 3.47pm…must be close!! 😅
Yea that’s spot on. Well done!
Demand a rap music video "in my hood"
I’m Vietnamese but don’t eat it everyday, with you living there what American dishes do you crave from time to time? And do you cook mostly Vietnamese or American foods? 🤔
I used to cook more often but I rarely cook now. In terms of dishes I miss the most I’d say really good Southern California style Mexican food would be at the top of the list…after that it would be maybe things like stuffing/mashed potatoes/gravy because eating that always reminds me of holidays. And then also high quality ice cream is something I miss. Great question!
Just seems more sensible to drive around in a little Smart car🚗 in those tight/congested streets as opposed to a huge SUV - Just saying…
Display of wealth
Quite a difference between this district and the other bougie ones, huh?
Yep for sure
