I was deep into Rush & Pink Floyd. Went to every Rush concert that came to Pittsburgh. I had every Rush album (On LP and CD), posters, books, etc., etc. Thank God that I believed on Jesus before the final Rush CD which had witchcraft and Satanic symbols on the cover!! Freedom is found only in Jesus.

Man, I’m going to try and listen to these sermons when I’m lifting from now on rather than metal. I use the excuse that I only listen to metal when I’m lifting to “get pumped up”.
It makes sense to me that the anti-Christ will use music to reach all people of religion to bring them together. The music industry is preparing people for it.
This is my biggest weakness. When I find this in one of my books about music, the author brings a very cogent and precise point.: Music really derives its power from within us. I will say it like this...I can maybe remember one or two sermons in the last 10-15 years. But I can very easily remember the songs and albums I have listened to in the same timeframe. What I am trying to give is in this book, learned that when it comes to speech and dialogue, our minds filters the meanings to us. This is why we can test the spirits to see if they are true or false. In music, it is a direct affect of your ears and nerves which will bypass your filtering tecnique. In other words, music goes directly into your concience brain and will remember much of what you heard-no discernment to make a choice to oppose. Many might say this or that in disagreement. Give me your most chaste husbands and wives and is a guarantee-in two weeks I would have them singing Korn and Marilyn Manson songs. They could still hate it but they know it now and stay wth them for quite some time(my opinion.) Again, this is my worst sin. Understanding this, just hope the words I wrote here will be beneficial in understanding the truth and allow them to make a decision to put the bad stuff down.

Music has many functions. It can make you think, laugh, dance, cry. It can take over your mind, your body, your soul, your spirit. It can inspire, anger, make you feel alive. It is not a sin to feel emotion, to relate. If you don’t like modern music, you don’t. I can understand that. But take it from one who knows. If you don’t like music, you are not getting the best out of life.
In the song "lola", i think the artist is saying he does NOT like it, so in effect he agrees with the preacher. In other words , the song is AGAINST homosexuals.

Best sermon I've heard to date against worldly music. I've been having a hard time letting go over listening to my favorite bands like zeppellin but this is exactly what I needed to get that last little push to completely stop listening to it.
Attended the Asheville NC Soul-winning marathon this weekend...my first one...and praise Lord Jesus there were 47 souls saved on Saturday!! Great being around like-minded folks who love the Lord and His precious word, and who have a zeal to serve God, and a compassion for the lost.

Here's the thing: the brothers in Ashville didn't know one another except through youtube - once they realized that they lived so close to one another, they began planning the event. It took them a total of 4 1/2 months from day one till the actual coming together. Amazingly, and by the grace of God, they had 47 people from all over America, and one couple from Toronto, Canada, attend the event!! It was truly awesome. All that to say this, if you find someone willing to go soul-winning, then pray on it, and maybe you, too, will have a marathon in your home town. That's my plan - and hopefully it's part of God's, too. Blessings brother. BTW, I am starting my own youtube channel, so look for it and we can stay in touch that way.

I disagree with the men's hair length issue and think it was due to Roman influence. Also there is no reason to consider the 40's generation more ethical when they sent millions of their finest sons to die in a mass fratricide (WWII).
I've noticed people treating others differently by appearance through experience, I used to be morbidly obese people treated differently like a lazy slob than now that I'm in good physical shape and attractive by anxieties standard
Of course, and its sad because everything this man is saying should be common knowledge amongst christians..and its sad that, truly, many christians know this deep down, but the world has such a powerful hold and presence or relevance in peoples lives that they cannot let go..music is a powerful instument, and one that mankind, in our gifted ability, can match the ability of angels in...we can create beautiful and powerful music....it is beautiful, and powerful, and sad that people fall prey to this weapon of war...even though, it is a weapon of war, it is one of the main ways that we exalt , honor, and glorify god...i love u and god bless..amen..

I've heard WAY better sermons explaining why modern music is bad though going through the actual structure of music and not just nagging and given out personal opinions

Music or anything that perpetuates violence or hate is abhorrent. So is holy scripture, which advocates slavery and the stoning to death of women and children. With war, starvation, disease and natural disasters, music, of any kind, is the least of our troubles. Wake up!!!
