Thank you for having the courage to show your learning process as you try to figure out this radio. The rabbit hole side quests are helpful too. I hope you will persevere and put out as many parts as it takes to complete the restoration.
Even though you have taken some missteps along the way, I am learning from those, perhaps even more than if you went immediately to a solution.

Apologies - I have not watched the whole video, however I have a working FT101e and think yours is close to working.
Have you checked the antenna fuse (light bulb in line with rx input!) - later models dont have this but many do, that may be why you can hear the calibrator but nothing else. The relays may need cleaning. Regarding the calibrator, this should be used to set the slip ring dial once you tune to 'zero beat' for the selected mode. 'Tune' is specifically for setting up the transmitter so use USB/LSB/CW for calibration. I would recommend joining the FoxTango group. There are folks with expert knowledge of this iconic radio who will be able to assist diagnosing other issues. Good luck with the repair, hope you get the radio sorted!.

Thanks mate. Bulb and relay are good. I found one video on hearing what sounds like the calibrator right through the tuning range and I think he called it something like chirps or birds. I think it pointed to a specific module. Hopefully do another video follow up when I get time, also longer antenna to rule that out.

You need the maintenance manual as well as the operators manual. Otherwise your troubleshooting guide is worthless.
