Days Gone - THE ICE WIND LAVA CAVE MISSION HORDE, The Best & Easiest Ways To Take Out This Horde.

- Hi folks, another very unusual horde to show on my horde series (and this is the last one to show). This horde is not a large one, but the location of where you take them on from, makes them one of the scariest encounters in the Days Gone game, unless of course you have a game plan. On this video I show 4 very efficient methods to easily take out this mission horde (and everyone must face this horde, as it is part of a main Days Gone mission), so I hope you all enjoy the video.

Needed to change my boxers the first time i did this horde. You didn't show the running around the cave screaming and getting lost method! I used that on my first play through. I was amazed how calm you were when walking through showing points of interest. Even after numerous times doing this mission i want in and out as soon as possible. I suppose that is the beauty of this game, it still gets me on edge and my heart pumping. Keep em coming my friend.
LMAO. I think we all did the moving about & getting lost bit on this mission. Got to admit, never enjoyed this mission as it took so long to complete, but the horde at the end was always entertaining. Pains me to say TD, but this is the last horde video from my horde series, but the Ambush Camps start next week, so it's war on the marauders and rippers now, lol. here we go, another mission where i completely started panicing as soon as OBrian told me to run for my life. I think the scariest thing is that you can't really see the full amount. Very well done mission in my opinion. This game truly deserved so much more
The first time you ever take on this horde, it's terrifying because you don't know how many you are about to face. One of the most memorable parts of the entire game for sure. Thank you for watching mate.
I just did this with the attractor method. My hands are still shaking, I just couldn't trust that it would work. But it worked perfectly! Two attractors, two grenades, and that's it! Every single freaker gone. Although I was very afraid to remain reachable to the freakers, I felt that it could still be a better option than the option of running through the gap in the wall which I've done in all my previous playthroughs. It's actually very stressful because sometimes Deacon just doesn't want to slip through the gap! So I prefer the attractor method now by far! Thanks mate, so much! 🥰
Ruth, you're hands will shake with this one. You've just completed the scariest mission in Days Gone. Seriously, you have done amazing Ruth, as this mission has done over so many gamers, and I know you struggle with the hordes, but you have taken this lot out, from INSIDE A BLOODY CAVE. Seriously, so proud of you for this one.
@@borislav247 Thank you, friend! It is indeed the scariest mission in the whole game, to be trapped inside a dark cave with a bunch of blood thirsty freakers wanting to rip you apart. But I'm learning so much from you and really starting to enjoy the direct confrontations with the hordes, now that I'm finally brave enough to try it. The sense of achievement is very different to that of doing it from a safe, untouchable location. Onwards we ride on the broken road, making it safer for all, one freaker and one horde at a time! 🤩

Another creepy mission in the dark that has a little more to it that you didn't show to not reveal story spoilers. Just like TheDukes 1984 , I ran around the cave totally lost and screaming . I could have sworn the horde was 1000 strong as they seemed to be everywhere I went . The best part of this mission is when you finally escape and see daylight again , phew . This mission is traumatic , then you come along and make it look like a walk in the park lol. Just love method #2. What took me 30 minutes , you literally did in seconds. Job well done ! 👍👍
Lol, the daylight scene at the end is always a sight to see my friend, and getting lost in the cave, that's a right of passage for every Days Gone gamer as we all get lost down there (myself included). Delighted you enjoyed the show my friend.

I don’t know why I absolutely hate this mission. It’s like a chore… I guess because it’s so creepy and I hate being in that cave 😂 but I usually use the wall method 👍🏻 I really liked your other optional methods as well. Nice Video as always.

I had no idea about the 55 horde when I played through this mission. I knew I had to take on a new creature, because of what O'Brian talks about, but when the actual horde came running at me, as you've said, I almost turned off my PS5 because OMG was it incredibly scary. I thought the horde's going to be even bigger, and I was sure I needed to run out of the cave to escape them instead of taking them down, but I was wrong.
I unfortunately didn't pick up any of those items mate because I simply couldn't see them in time. And when I did, it was already too late lol.
On my next playthrough on Survival I I'll definitely be more prepared and will be using your method to take them down, mate.
I did manage to kill the Reacher very quickly by stun-locking it using the spiked baseball bat though. And of course, after this mission the world is populated with Reachers, just like Breakers, Roachers, Ragers, etc. lol.
Indeed mate, this mission is almost like the last piece of the puzzle for new creatures with the Reacher being shown. This has to be the scariest horde in the entire game due to not knowing the size of this horde when you are first informed by O'Brian that one is coming. Never say never, right? 😉 Your Horde series is top notch. Can’t wait to see what you do with the Ambush Camps. My strategy is usually to snipe them from afar with the BFG, or as I call it, my Big Fuckin’ Gun 😂 with the occasional frag grenade or stealth takedown thrown in. Really looking forward to seeing the approach you take with these “murders, rapists, and thieves”!
@@VioletJones1999 Lol, they will all get what they deserve Violet. On every video, I will be showing a sniper rifle method, a method taking out the camp with items only available at the the time you take them on, and of course, a horde option should one be nearby.

Just a quick extra info that may confuse some people just like me:
You should first try to finish the quest with that military boss and then attending to obrian's quest,otherwise after you kill that new freak the zombie horde will never come and you will not complete the quest
Got to admit, I had no problems whatsoever in getting the horde every time to appear, even though I didn't go through the entire cave system. I just checked on the last nero guy before the battle with the reacher, and after that, took out the horde every time. I play on a PS5, so it might just be a PS4 problem.

I always use a slightly modified ledge method. I usually throw a couple of attractors down below before I feed them Molotov

the only thing i don't like about this horde is the restricted space to work with. my natural instinct is to funnel them into the pathway that leads to "leaving mission zone" prompts xD
Oh it's a scary mission, especially when you know you have to take them on. Hopefully this video helps ease the nerves of the Days Gone gamers, lol.
that's one of the best parts about it, especially if you're playing a difficulty where you can't scan for them. it'd be bad if the whole game was like that, but it's a perfect dose of horror/terror for this game's style :D@@borislav247

Just did it without watching this clip died once did not do health in time when getting to place to turn and napalm the freaks i saw the gap you squeeze through so hit them with the napalm and chopper gun quickly squeeze through they run round to other side only to be met by more napalm and gun play did this twice over, it worked and the horde was done. I swear as of writing this i have not yet watched this tutorial from the amazing Borislav 247. You defo need the survival vision in this place very tense. I am now going to watch this vid.

I think it would have better and more scary if both halves of the horde came at you at the same time from different directions 😱

I enjoyed the video I actually messaged you about this mission a couple of weeks ago but my problem was when it was time for the horde to attack ,nothing happen the horde wouldn't show up .maybe I tried to do mission too early
That could be it mate. You may have hit the nail on the head with that one.
These gaps shud av been removed except fir mission critical it seems a little cheap way to kill em hehe or the freaks shud av been able to get thru gap (it aint a ladder) wud av made mission more dangerous imo and made u use ur brain to get out. But gj bro anyway.
Ps pro tip for anyone
Rule no1 NEVER PANIC when escaping look for high ground and give yourself the dont panic talk (keeps u calm n focused) as being smart can save life.
rule 2 keep equipment topped up ie bandages/medkits and ammo/attractors and grenades and napalm molotov or go explore to find more if short on resources be smart when moving around as noise escalates the situation.
Rule 3 learn the map!! nero checkpoints fir resources open gun lockers for ammo learn were petrol pumps are for fuel.
A whole lot of smart advice there my friend. A lot of people would hugely benefit from following these 3 rules for sure.
@@borislav247ie regarding self talk thats for hordes who ate borderline lol but it can help haha and another weird thing i found with petrol stations if I didn't drive upto pump it wouldn't register the station on map? or do only some require this? i not tested it tbh. Ps but htf you can fast travel 50 m away from your bike made me laugh coz u can't recover bike at 50m hehe gj as always boris
Ps regarding noise while moving about i dont know what I did but a horde came out of a nest house 1 time I told u bout this hehe you any idea why this happened? Always assumed 1 of 3 4 locations they spawn at can noise escalation bring a horde out of a nest house?
Just one horde officially emerges from an infestation nest M, and that's the 150 strong Rimview Ranch horde. Scared the c$%p out of me the first time I ever played this game, lol.

Htf can 100 + zombies fit in that house? I checked after went inside to rectify ye u cud fit bout 200 freaks in there lol but 150 they wud still be cheek to cheek in there hehe. I thought game had broke lol as I assumed 1 of 4 locations freaks spawn at glad u told me that haha this horde took me by surprise too lol

on what difficulty are you playing on? I`m playing on survival 2 for the achievements, does it work the same?
I'm playing on normal difficulty, so the freakers will be a bit easier to kill with gunplay. But the damage from explosives will kill the same amount of freakers regardless of the difficulty level, so the method where I use 2 attractors & 2 grenades, will work flawlessly on any difficulty level.

This quest is bugged... first time I have try today and I though you had to run, so got lost and reached the "leaving area". I though to defeat them there by zoning in/out the small opening on wall. That was a big mistake, this bug shit started to spawn over and over enemies, had a mountain of corpse and used all chicago, smp, mines, attractor, bombs and anti materiel rifle (.50 sniper rifle) ammo. And still more were coming -.-
That sucks my friend, and is extremely unfair. There should only be 2 waves of freakers, and they total less than 60. I've never had this happen to me before thankfully. I would just restart the entire mission again mate, and hopefully your previous problem is a one off.
@@borislav247 Well thanks to your video I killed it, but if i didnt watch videos I probably would have drop game from frustation without know. There is other bugs like floating items without anything under, camps npc not spawning forving you to save - reload and big stuttering and low fps at random with a 4080 super. Hope they fix this stuff, the game is really good, maybe bit repetitive but worth for the story.
did you see the days gone plus option you can start a new game with all the weapons and stats from your previous game
How is this done?
If you complete the main story you can start a new game and select New Game +. You keep all your bike upgrades, weapons, and Camp Trust from your completed game. You don’t keep any resources you’ve collected previously though.

They appear after you have taken out the Reacher. If you don't get them then, then your game has somehow glitched.

Yeah, I killed the Reacher rather easily. Then O’Brien warned me about the Horde. But so far nothing has come. That’s where I’m at now. I paused it.

@@fredvalencia2205 It may be possible Fred. I actually have an area of the map where there is a potential 4 horde killing area, but I've not recorded this yet. One to look out for when I do get it done though.
@borislav247 I have a question every now and then I find and kick over a pile of rocks ,what do they represent I can't find any videos about them.
@@fredvalencia2205 They are all tied in to a trophy in the game. Other than that, they offer nothing. Think they are anarchist stones if I remember rightly, and you need to kick over a certain amount in order to get a trophy for this. I must have kicked over enough on my first playthrough as I ended up platinuming this game, but if you're not bothered about trophies (or achievements if playing on PC), then ignore them mate.

It is annoying that this mission is mandatory in order to progress the story. Scariest mission in the game by far also.

Ok but you never told us that you played that part on EASY MODE. On normal mode are more than a hundred
Firstly, I never play this game on easy Difficulty, it's always normal as this is the level most gamers watching these videos, play this game at. And finally, there ain't one horde in the game that changes size due to the difficulty level, not one. This horde is between 56 to 58 strong, and they come in 2 waves, which is why when you use 2 attractors with 2 grenades, you can wipe them all out easily.
@@borislav247 My friend I tried 4-5 times with the high ground method at normal mode and they were keeping coming maybe more than a hundred for sure. Keep in mind that was the 4th time I finished the game. When I changed to easy mode, then the numbers were abt 50. The 3 times before I played on normal mode. Unless Steam was trying to trick me this time and was still sending freaks.
This is one mission that is my least favorite
