That crowded platform must have made it difficult to film and take pictures I bet. 😮
Amazing!
Absolutely super duper video Derek.
Thanks, Matt ...
What a super video , many thanks
Cheers for Watching Nick...
The very last A3 Where She Belongs In The National Collection at last
excellent job Derek looks like the flying Scotsman is trying to show the black 5 how it should be done
Fantastic video Derek. Lovely shots of Flying Scotsman and the black 5. Was a pain with that voyager at the start but wasn’t that bad in the end. Good to see you again.
Cheers, Toby. Yes, it was a pain with the unit but did work out okay and nice to see you too...
Really nice video Derek, thumbs up :)
Thank you very much, Simon...
A double-headed A3? Gresley would be livid! One of the major reasons for the introduction of the Pacifics was to negate double-heading in the first place. Poor Scotsman! Great footage, BTW!
Please remember that he is now in his 90s.
Load of rubbish
Cool video. 👏👏👍
Thank for watching...
Cracking video there mate this is my video Thursday the 4th of October The Famous Flying Scotsman 60103 & Black 5 44871 embarked on there journey to the Southwest. On Thursday it went from Theale to Taunton.
Locations i filmed Taunton - Worle - Old Mixon Footbridge
Also in this video 67021 & 67024 Hauling the Belmond British Pullman at Bath Spa.
Cheers Sam, I will look at your soon mate...
Brilliant video Derek. Very difficult there filming with so many people. It was crowded by the looks of things. Then getting bowled by the HST. You done well. We got 2 cracking departure clips at Plymouth and Exeter. Hope you had a good day out at Bristol. Hope your keeping well. Kind regards C&A
Thank very much C&A. Yes with loads onlookers and cut up as well I managed to make the video. I will look out for your videos and be safe filming both... Derek...
Well, well, well. An A3 & a black 5. Looks like The Wild Nor Wester has been double headed.
Does anyone know how the drivers on double-headers co-ordinate their speed? Assume no radios as these were not available during the heyday of steam. They have no speedometers and don’t know what the lead driver wants in terms of acceleration and deceleration ... so how do they do it?
I wish they would remove those damn smoke deflectors and put a proper whistle on scotsman
You are definitely not alone there!
I was there. Brilliant wasn't it!
Thanks for watching. yes, it was nice to see...
Weren't The Cathedrals a Gospel quartet?
If the k2 still exists it would of been the three railway engines in the beginning of the video
Gordon henry and missing Edward
There Is A K2 In The Netherlands
There's me on the right with the black rucksack at 0:07
Yes, I did see you there HD...
I’m in the video too but u can’t see me
Where are ya
Great vid ' . Can anybody out there explain how synchronising of a double header works . Seems to me quite a precision process . The power and braking , so important to the two locomotives .
Route Knowledge!!
Is it just me? I can't understand the enthusiasm people have for the Flying Scotsman steam engine.Id sooner enjoy the Black fives or any GWR steam engine any day!
As someone once said there is only one thing better than a black 5 .
That's 2 of them
It's called history. Scotsman has a history unequalled by any other locomotive anywhere. Look it up. Maybe then you'll get the picture!
