Orlando Jones is definitely next level talent and intelligence, another brother who's career I followed from day one.
As for Johnathan Majors, brother seems to have a ego issue that's landed him exactly where he is today. Let pray he gets the guidance he appears to need.
Confidence and ego are to different thing. One can elevate you, the other can lead you to your destruction.
He also seems to be dealing with some unresolved trauma, yet aren't we all.
The lady in my life inspired me to want to be better.
A great partner usually does. The disire and work that it took and takes to better way and is my responsibility, solely on me to make it happen.
I'm not sure that he gets that yet...?
As in all things time brings a change.

Dr. King was not always the legend we now know, and neither was Coretta. Our people should always aspire for greatness, or it will never come. Let's not laugh at a persons desire to have a great partner and spouse like Coretta. Let's celebrate and encourage Mr.Majors' desire to be more than he is right now and have a partner who shares that vision : )

I whole heartedly agree!! I can't stand that they all choose not to see the analogy of what he is striving for and the pressure he felt to become the representation in the art of storytelling that moves all walks of life. He and all of us can see he is not MLK, but that he strives to achieve some level of greatness like the man and want someone by his side that can hold him down and support him in this pursuit by being great by his side. Since when is it looked down upon to have aspirations and goals and dreams. Lovecraft country was beautifully acted and touched on historical trauma like the Tulsa massacre or Emmitt till. Devotion was a true story during the time that black people were integrated into pilot programs during Korean War. The harder they fall was great to see all those melinated faces in a western and he was great in it. Etc... The point is he is using the skills he has developed to tell greatly acted stories with and for thr culture. Why is that a bad thing or being overlooked? SMH people focus on the wrong things.

Orlando Jones has always been entertaining and authentic in everything and with Karen Hunter. This clip is near perfect. Why? Because he allows his face to speak on where the audience may also disagree at times where we do not share the same views as Ms. Hunter. I have no doubt that they agree and disagree on aspects of Hollywood including Majors and his choices but he just listened to her. His face was subtle and not always in agreement where as Karen Hunter was expressive and graceful where her opinion might differ. Humor reigned the day for me and just two black talents discussing potentially controversial opinions on another person's life and image. The King point had the juice and the humor. Orlando Jones is so versatile and funny. I want him back with Karen again. Hope to see him a couple more times in 2024!!... Where is my Coretta Scott King?.. loll. I laughed for days...

Orlando Jones is my birthday twin! Love him! FYI: Robert Downey Jr also went to prison for his shenanigans. And yet look at him now, winning Golden Globes and living the dream as the former king of the MCU. Sad that you and OJ fixate on the Coretta thing like everyone else does when all the man was saying is he wants a partner who carries themselves with the qualities of dignity and respectful character like CSK inside a strong partnership that is reciprocated. The man aspires to do great things that we celebrate in MLK (in a private, secretly taped conversation) and folks drag him for that? He used to be connected to the Sidney Poitier Initiative last year where he was helping to guide the next generation of Black actors, so his aspirations to do service in our community through the arts have been dashed because of this trial. Maybe we shouldn't celebrate MLK day or admire his amazing wife if you get clowned for wanting to model your behavior in life as such. Smh.

As individuals we’re all different in our desires and the things that influence those desires are different. As a Yale graduate or just based on his interest, he probably spent much time reading about great leaders within black community both past and present.
I don’t think he wants Megan to be like Coretta, it’s likely just his reference point. It’s the positive characteristic he’s looking for in his significant other. Positive characteristics of a great woman like Coretta. However I do understand how that can bother people. At the end of the day it’s his personal desire of what he’s looking for in his lady, characteristic of a strong black woman who stands by her mans side and wants nothing but the best for him!!!

I think people are missing the long game. Disney is once more engaging in a long term PR campaign and engaging in the “okie doke.” Do not forget ABC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Disney. So let’s think here, why is the company that “axed” him allowing him to do an exclusive with their subsidiary? This is the beginning of the long PR campaign to rehabilitate his image and create a redemption arc, which people love almost as more as watching a fall from grace. Disney saves face by firing home but offers him a “lifeline” by letting him “showcase” the “new him” on the mainstream news outlet. The long game is afoot. As Brother Orlando says if others in this space can have their images rehabilitated than so can Majors. It just takes time and a plan. If the rehabilitation campaign goes well over the new few months then they may be able to salvage their investment in him. As you guys pointed out, it was a couple of misdemeanors and the nature of the relationship between him and his ex was extremely volatile and unhealthy. Yes he does have hubris and ego and maybe 🤔 this situation will engender some insight and humility in him that serve him better. In the end what transpired should not translate into him being irredeemable.

Lets be real..Ronald Reagan was an actor also. If we look at him in that same manner we'd all be wrong, because as an actor he did move on to change the world and become a staple in history and the culture good or bad, so to brus someone's Ambitions to the side is pretty much ignorant every black person who has a platform has an effect on the culture. Orlando Jones for instance standing up for what was done to him on American Gods is something inspiring even if he is an actor because he didn't just roll over and accepted like many have before him and that's how you can have an effect on the culture and the world being a voice for those who don't have the voice to do it themselves. Every great tree was once a seed.

It’s embarrassing and then to be ridiculed for it is likely hurtful for him. I’m so glad he has Meagan because this is hell. I wonder if it was Meagan who texted him that night and she may possibly feel guilt for having played some small part in this. I wish him the best. I’ve never seen a black man run from a white woman like that. Grace was an alcoholic, a drunk and needs help. He should have been vindicated because his bruises were not admissible. Too much is being made of this "Coretta Scott King" thing. The real issue is that Jonathan Majors was having a private conversation with his significant other AND SHE TAPED HIM!. Lots of people say a lot of things to their significant other in order to make a point in the privacy of their own home. They say sometimes outrageous things for analogy and/or example. But lots of people don't TAPE those conversations and bring them to court. That smells setup. I take the woman's side in 90% of these cases. I have strained friendships because of that, but this one is different. If she didn't set him up no one would be talking about Jonathan Majors and Corretta Scott King. The whole business of this stinks.

No, he brought the comment back up and called Meagan “a Coretta” in his interview.

@@DebraJohnson Not totally accurate. The interviewer actually brought it up. What Majors did was not run away from it. So yes, he was looking for his Coretta, holding her in high esteem. Personally, see it as a tribute to Coretta, but we can all see things from different viewpoints.

Jonathan. Yuck, just yuck. An abuser with zero accountability.
