    About Rich:
Originally from the L.A. area, Rich has been playing professionally and teaching guitar for over thirty years. His education includes years of college and private instruction with a variety of teachers, including Mitch Holder, Ted Greene, Joe Pass, and Charlie Shoemake, to name a few. He feels education is a continuing process. There's always more to learn. Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Howard Roberts, Ted Greene, and Larry Carleton have all influenced his playing.
Rich wrote three books for a major publisher, Dale Zdenek/ Belwin Mills/Columbia, providing him the opportunity to work with other great artists/authors like Tommy Tedesco, Joe Diorio, and Ted Greene. After teaching at GIT/Musicians Institute, in Hollywood, CA, for three years, he developed and published his own home study guitar school-type curriculum available on his website www.GuitarCollegeLibrary.com which has helped over ten thousand students improve their playing.
Rich has won honorable mentions and awards in songwriting and served as president of the Ventura County Producers and Songwriters Guild. Touring for three years with "Dick Clark's Good Old Rock and Roll Show," he had the opportunity to perform with Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Little Anthony, and many other great, old-time rock and rollers.
After moving his family to the Yosemite/Fresno area, he taught guitar and directed the jazz band at Fresno Pacific University for two years. Being a well-rounded player, Rich is comfortable playing a variety of styles, including jazz (his favorite), blues, rock, fusion, country, and solo fingerstyle. He performs at local venues in a number of different scenarios, as a solo guitarist, with his jazz trio or quartet or smooth jazz quintet. At home in his studio, he is continually producing new lessons for CZcams and www.GuitarCollegeLibrary.com.
The years of experience and knowledge he can share with you will
help you be the player you always dreamed you'd be.

I bought one of these after your recommendation in a previous video.. It’s an amazing guitar!
This is my, “Desert Island Guitar”. If I could only have one, this could cover all the bases.
The Seymour Duncan Antiquities are really sweet. My only issue is the weight. I’m an old dude! 😊

Anything Rich lays his hands on sounds divine, he has the royal touch, but having said that these Eastmans are the business, I love my T186MX as much as my L5 and that's a heap of love right there.

I love my Sire H7 Larry Carlton. Very versatile and with flat wounds can easily cover jazz, blues, rock. Insanely good value for money.

I did ask Rich about the Sire H7. He and Wes didn't know anything about it.

The one that Rick put heavier strings on definitely sounded better, I wonder if they were 11s or 12s? I probably can't handle more than 11s anyways I suppose, but that tone with the thicker (flat wound?) strings sounded "dope" (that's a new term people are using?)!

They call those fret markers Split Parallelogram fret markers.

  • @elrincondelaguitarra3050

Beautiful tone! But the guitar Rich has on sale has some blemishes on it, am I right?

I have sunburst T386 with Virgil Arlo 1959 pickups. It’s so good that I returned a $6000 Gibson es-335 1959 reissue VOS 2 weeks ago. The cramped neck of the Gibson both at the nut and bridge felt horrible after playing my Eastman. Gibson CS pickups were nothing great and my Arlo’s blew them away. The build of the Eastman was just as good (maybe better) and the resonance of the Eastman was better. Thinking about grabbing one of these…again! Soooo good!

    I bought a used 1970s ES-335. I didn’t like the sound of it. I prefer a full hollow-body guitar.

@@RichSeversonGuitar I had a Gibson 335 years ago in the mid 1990's. I paid £1600 in installments for one then. I was never really impressed with the Gibson 335, so i swapped in for a decent Fender Thin line Telecaster. I prefer my Fender Thin line tbh. Not sure i wauld wanna pay £1500 for that! Each to their own. Great video!

No one wants Gibson anymore only the wealthy dentists doctors and executives who don't even play and use them for wall art..today's Epiphones are king and if it wasn't for Les Paul and Epiphone in 1941 the Gibson Les Paul wouldn't exist Today plain and simple..

I never heard about wealthy dentist and doctors and execs who don't play using them as wall decorations. That is the first I heard of that.
