    What piece was it that broke that you had to order behind passenger mirror? Also, molding on lower doors, how was that removed? And last, but not least...lol....in your other video it just shows you popping off door pieces..did anything have to be unscrewed from inside for handle?..Thank you so much.very helpful. Started Working on a chrome delete today on EXACT year/model Very helpful video.

      There’s a small molding clip once you remove the mirror cover. Just don’t break it, the mirror covers you just have to manhandle the cover off. The side molding trim on the doors just pops off however you’ll probably break the little plastic retaining clips but you might have to go to the dealer and get some more clips. The doorhandles if you open them slightly on this inside you’ll see a T star bit. Unscrew and you should be able to just pop them off. You’ll definitely need a set of plastic tools to pop off the stuff so you won’t scratch the vehicle.

    Looks great! I was hoping you were going to show how to remove the lower door trim because there is no info anywhere on how those are stuck on there. Do you have any tips on removing the lower door trim? (The pieces you are putting back on here @11:29)

    • @SplitBuilds
      @SplitBuilds  Před 3 lety +1

      There’s like two alignment pens that fit into preset holes and the rest is just double-sided tape that is just really really on there! Just put up plastic trim remover tool underneath and pray gently until it starts to come up. Work it from on side to the other. It’s really on there though, but I will come off!

    look great! thanks for making the videos. For the roof rails, did you just remove them? If so were you able to utilize the factory bolts and just reinstall them? Any issues with water leaks? thanks.

    • @SplitBuilds
      @SplitBuilds  Před 3 lety

      Yeah, I think it was 4-5 nuts on the inside of the interior underneath the roof liner

    • @SplitBuilds
      @SplitBuilds  Před 3 lety

      The factory bolts are permanently mounted on the rails.

    • @SplitBuilds

      No, I only blacked out just a chrome section of the emblem itself.

    congratulations for your great contribution to teaching us how to do it, it turned out very well, I like them without chromes but with Escalade they can be seen anyway, I have a black 2018 platinum too and I would like to do the same to yours, but I'm unsure, 😁 It's just that I know well too. God bless your life and family.

    Have the same year Escalade ESV, new to our family. I’m having a hard time visualizing what black rims would work. Do you mind sharing what rims you have on your Escalade?

    • @SplitBuilds
      @SplitBuilds  Před 2 lety

      They are in stock wheels that came on it. I just had a tire shop dismount the tires and I took the wheels to get powder coated gloss black. I got it powder coated for $100 a wheel.

      @@SplitBuilds Are you going to try the headlights? I am getting my 15' escalade blacked out right now(all trim). I am really tempted to try the headlight. I have done it in the past on a cts-v and wasn't too bad. But these look pretty complicated. I also would love to do the rear taillights, but not sure how you would go about splitting them, heat gun? Would love to see it if you black the headlight housings out! I may try mine soon

    • @SplitBuilds
      @SplitBuilds  Před 3 lety +1

      Cadi Mike i have only done one set of headlights in the past and they turned out great! I’m just scared to do these headlights cause of the $$$.
