Panantukan (or Suntukan) is the boxing component of Filipino martial arts. It consists of upper-body striking techniques such as punches, elbows, headbutts and shoulder strikes. It also includes low-line kicks and knee strikes to the legs, shins and groin.
This martial arts is not a sport, but rather a street-oriented fighting system. The techniques have not been adapted for safety or conformance to a set of rules for competition. Common targets include the biceps, triceps, eyes, nose, jaws, temples, groin, ribs, spine and the back of the neck. - Sport

Panantukan and the Filipino Martial Arts in general are the best and most effective fighting system(s) around, and this promotional video ( along with it's kick-Ass soundtrack ) provides both a stimulating and educational insight into the movements, techniques and applications of these arts. In response to Eugenio's comment; the Filipino Arts were founded on weapons useage, with tried and battle tested techniques, and all empty hand forms are are representations of the weapons, i.e knife, sticks, dagger e.t.c to be executed in accordance with those specific movements, and so comes as a singular package. Importantly, Panantukan is NOT A SPORT. Get in a ruckus with a seasoned practitioner, and there won't be any referee jumping in to save your skin. For the years of dedication and patience in training to attain a high level of skill, a 'Gangster' would probably find it much simpler to pull a Glock on someone.

Almost all martial arts are formed on weapon usage. LOL CLUELESS
This is why you cannot use this style, 100%, in mma bouts because of so many restrictions (headbutts, chokes, groin strikes etc.). However in street fights where there's no holds barred this martial art will definitely kicked some tough arse.
No wonder it's also called, dirty fighting.
