Ahri isn't talking about literal demons here. She's referring to the figurative kind because Yone has never properly forgiven Yasuo. His biography at the end even states his issues with Yasuo pale in comparison to the demon problem in Ionia and in game he has a voice line stating that forgiveness is complicated. He's put his issues to the side because he doesn't want to face them now. Yasuo has freed himself of his lingering guilt with his hand in Yones death but Yone has never overcame his own doubts and fears that he not only failed in raising Yasuo correctly but being a pillar for Yasuo to lean on and follow the example of as well (which is another thing stated in his lore and even said in the cinematic).

The azakana hunting is basically a metaphor for Yone tirelessly running from his past and if he faced it maybe he could create a path of his own

Laura Post (if my ears don't deceive me) as the new VA for Ahri is an... interesting choice. It's a new direction for her character that I think I will grow to like after hearing it more in game.
Laura Post has been the VA for Ahri since 2009; she's literally never been voiced by anyone else on the EN side. The direction and qualities for Ahri's character are just different because she's grown up a lot as a character recently.

@@piimco933 what "addition", they completely retconned who she was, like varus, who was a grieving widower and father, turned into 2 dudes 1 darkin. her old lore has her as a literal fox, who desired to be human, given human form and intellect via magic of the rune wars. smarter, more beautiful, but still a predator at heart, she hunted humans via seducing them, so they approached her of their own volition, but as her humanity grew, it became a conflict between her killing instinct and growing conscience, and so she joins the league in hoping the mages there can turn her fully human without further permanent loss of life and reconciling it with her desire to kill. this has depth, irony in that her path to being human is to commit inhuman acts but now only realizes it, and uniqueness that shows in her personality as a seductive femme fatale archetype. new lore has her as a retconned-in race that didn't need to exist because there is no singular trait that defines vastaya, and the lore itself treats different kinds as separate species anyway, so this vastaya blanket term serves no narrative purpose other than to sound exotic. and her arc is basically 'le dead bf, le sad, but world pretty, so le happy now', like every self-assured generic fantasy character out there, and basically every new champion in lol.

I always thought Wukong and ahri had some type of relation because I remember seeing on league's websites that they "had an interaction" but never really did. Also since they're both literally based off of chinese mythology I would think they would have some type of interaction.

Eastern Asia has different interpretations of the Nine tailed fox, from the 九尾狐 (Chinese), Kumiho (Korean) and Kitsune (Japanese), all based from the same Chinese mythology with slight cultural variations. The base Chinese version is more obviously devious and evil.

This ASU is the worst murder they have ever done of a League character. Ruined King Ahri is someone that learns that she can get comfortable or excited about things but she still needs to keep in check as she's someone that literally needs to kill others (most of the time innocent) people to stay alive. She lives on charming people and brutally murdering them to siphon their life essence. This is just a kooky girl with zero personality. Ahri is completely dead in terms of in game representation.
Well if you played Ruined King they drop hints about them falling in love with each other, and i think one developer said in one of necrit videos that they in fact are canonically in love (but not together).

I love how despite her feeling a lot more dreamy and friendly, she also feels a lot more mature rn. The somber undertone lacing the super obvious succubus vibes are a thing of the past, just like her lore.
I really appreciate the amount of depth she has now compared to the linear seductress that she was before. It’s refreshing to see that they’re pushing the lore forward with these voice updates, especially since it provides a space for newer players to explore these voice lines and where they derive from❤️ Bonus W seeing the players with a one track mind be salty as well.
after ruined king, I find the whole seductress thing really weird, Ahri tells us that she is functionally like a succubus, and she hates that she drains the life out of her partner, thats what has made her scared of finding love, because she will accidentaly kill it
No. I don't like it. Ruined King changed her from her old seductive character to a generic tragic back story character. If you didn't like the old ones, you didn't like Ahri. The new voice lines aren't ahri voice lines, they're completely different in character.

I really don't get why people love this so much but gave flack to Akali's VO change. I understand that Akali was just getting a different actress but even so they do the same thing here. She has overacted lines that come off more like a generic anime character. Even the Ruined King game kept the sultry demeanor without all the overdone sex appeal. Don't get me wrong, the interactions themselves are pretty good, and I'm glad she has real person dialogue, but she could have real person dialogue while sounding like the character she has always been. You could have convinced me these were for the Spirit Blossom skin, because that is supposed to be a playful fox in a human form, but that's not what normal Ahri is. Just like the problems with Akali, the way she says the lines feels off. I hate to bring up The Ruined King game again but people saying this is the next evolution don't understand that it was already done there, and done better. Honestly, it's a pretty simple fix, just have Laura Post say the lines differently. However, I'm sure she will be busy, and I don't see anyone else having the same problem as me. It hurts a little knowing that my main of nine years (ironic) is not going to get the same justice. And just as clarification, the think the voice actress did a great job, and the writers have a great understanding of the character, but the direction feels like the whole "make all the skins sound the same" stunt despite the fact that all the skins are canonically different.

There were little special interactions amongs some special champions' relation, and there were few special abilitys (usually ultimates) with lines. Her lore was understandeable and showd her intentions and improoing capibilitys. What standards of mine isn't clear? I am not talking about she lost her mildly suggestive speaches, I am talking about the unstopable anoying amount unrealistic talking she does every single moves on, repetatevly, and I don't talk only about her! This game * was * that game which originally understood that how wonky that is when a unit you controll speaks instantly at every given orders and not after some short time, now they litered this on a different way!

Laura Post (if my ears don't deceive me) as the new VA for Ahri is an... interesting choice. It's a new direction for her character that I think I will grow to like after hearing it more in game.
Laura Post has been the VA for Ahri since 2009; she's literally never been voiced by anyone else on the EN side. The direction and qualities for Ahri's character are just different because she's grown up a lot as a character recently.
This is her in the lore. No more one dimensional succubus she started as.

her old lore has her as a literal fox, who desired to be human, given human form and intellect via magic of the rune wars. smarter, more beautiful, but still a predator at heart, she hunted humans via seducing them, so they approached her of their own volition, but as her humanity grew, it became a conflict between her killing instinct and growing conscience, and so she joins the league in hoping the mages there can turn her fully human without further permanent loss of life and reconciling it with her desire to kill. this has depth, irony in that her path to being human is to commit inhuman acts but now only realizes it, and uniqueness that shows in her personality as a seductive femme fatale archetype.
new lore has her as a retconned-in race that didn't need to exist because there is no singular trait that defines vastaya, and the lore itself treats different kinds as separate species anyway, so this vastaya blanket term serves no narrative purpose other than to sound exotic. and her arc is basically 'le dead bf, le sad, but world pretty, so le happy now', like every self-assured generic fantasy character out there, and basically every new champion in lol.

I always thought Wukong and ahri had some type of relation because I remember seeing on league's websites that they "had an interaction" but never really did. Also since they're both literally based off of chinese mythology I would think they would have some type of interaction.
Chinese probably but I'd wager she feels more Korean based? Eastern Asia has different interpretations of the Nine tailed fox, from the 九尾狐 (Chinese), Kumiho (Korean) and Kitsune (Japanese), all based from the same Chinese mythology with slight cultural variations. The base Chinese version is more obviously devious and evil.

This ASU is the worst murder they have ever done of a League character. Ruined King Ahri is someone that learns that she can get comfortable or excited about things but she still needs to keep in check as she's someone that literally needs to kill others (most of the time innocent) people to stay alive. She lives on charming people and brutally murdering them to siphon their life essence.
This is just a kooky girl with zero personality. Ahri is completely dead in terms of in game representation.

after ruined king, I find the whole seductress thing really weird, Ahri tells us that she is functionally like a succubus, and she hates that she drains the life out of her partner, thats what has made her scared of finding love, because she will accidentaly kill it
No. I don't like it. Ruined King changed her from her old seductive character to a generic tragic back story character. If you didn't like the old ones, you didn't like Ahri. The new voice lines aren't ahri voice lines, they're completely different in character.

I really don't get why people love this so much but gave flack to Akali's VO change. I understand that Akali was just getting a different actress but even so they do the same thing here. She has overacted lines that come off more like a generic anime character. Even the Ruined King game kept the sultry demeanor without all the overdone sex appeal. Don't get me wrong, the interactions themselves are pretty good, and I'm glad she has real person dialogue, but she could have real person dialogue while sounding like the character she has always been. You could have convinced me these were for the Spirit Blossom skin, because that is supposed to be a playful fox in a human form, but that's not what normal Ahri is. Just like the problems with Akali, the way she says the lines feels off. I hate to bring up The Ruined King game again but people saying this is the next evolution don't understand that it was already done there, and done better. Honestly, it's a pretty simple fix, just have Laura Post say the lines differently. However, I'm sure she will be busy, and I don't see anyone else having the same problem as me. It hurts a little knowing that my main of nine years (ironic) is not going to get the same justice. And just as clarification, the think the voice actress did a great job, and the writers have a great understanding of the character, but the direction feels like the whole "make all the skins sound the same" stunt despite the fact that all the skins are canonically different.

Tbh I think they should've kept her former signature personality and this personality too. Her main and matured or "matured" personality. There's obviously nothing wrong with being sexual. It's a fact that many people refuse to accept. Whether people like it or not, we all have a sexuality. I don't care if you think it's "not that deep". It is that deep. And the immaturity from people like you hurts me every single day and I've had fucking enough. What else are you going to try to cancel? A person's entire being??
8 years I had on her, seen her beta form, seen all her little tweaks, and I can only say that they ruined her like many ,,updated" champions, from the weightless and tonless tails, to the buny hoppy run cycle and SMG like speaking on any casted spelles or other interaction...

@RVPairofdice the Wanderer , my standards were, a nice slick appearence, with abilitys those are not a hotpoch of random looking magics, when I mett her I instantly putted Lux behind (and those days Lux had accaptably anoying voice, not a mental damaged child's). There were little special interactions amongs some special champions' relation, and there were few special abilitys (usually ultimates) with lines. Her lore was understandeable and showd her intentions and improoing capibilitys.
What standards of mine isn't clear? I am not talking about she lost her mildly suggestive speaches, I am talking about the unstopable anoying amount unrealistic talking she does every single moves on, repetatevly, and I don't talk only about her!
This game * was * that game which originally understood that how wonky that is when a unit you controll speaks instantly at every given orders and not after some short time, now they litered this on a different way!
