- Freightliner Radiator Leaking R/R
• Pressure test system (with Radiator Cap Pressure @15psi) let sit for at least 30mins first for accurate and quick detection for leakage.
• Radiators usually leak due to corrosion on the top and bottom edges which can cause rust to deteriorate the radiator overtime. Sometimes cracks can be present on housing.
• They’re several ways to remove the radiator (On trucks they’re HEAVY) I usually use a forklift to lift it out and set on the ground but due to lack of space I had someone lift the other end and removed it safely.
• A TIP try not to get coolant on engine belts because they will squeal loudly if so just rinse with water before running it.
• A TIP I prefer to run a regen on the truck to ensure coolant is getting to correct temperature and also to ensure everything is secure and tight so no further leaks. But you can do a manual regen without the computer.
