- Now that your Tyro99 is assembled, it is time to start programming! BetaFlight programs the flight board and BLHeliSuite programs the 4-in-1 ESC. The receiver part of this video assumes that you are using a SBUS receiver. I am using the FrSky XM+.
If you're planning to race, go ahead an order some 3 blade props and a camera with a wider field of view, such as the RunCam Swift. Those are 2 upgrades that you'll definitely need.

Yr vid will come in handy for me soon when my tyro99 is finished..yr vid is easy to understand..thanks for yr time on this vid..my hawk 5 a guy just set arm switch and flight mode angle ect....after binding it flew well out of box..it.ll be my first time setting up a quad in betaflight..cheer.s ron...i may be subbed allready but if not i will now....

The camera angle setting is for when you want betaflight to handle yaw-aileron coupling, if you enable it in other settings when you input yaw it will mix in roll with it so it yaws "flat" when moving forward. Hope this made sense

Have you figured out how to change VTX settings (especially power). I saw on previous video you struggled with it and said like "you`ll do it later". I tried pressing the button but cant get into power menu.
What I have to do when two of tyro 99 motors work occasionally and when they work they are faltering?
When I plug my tyro99 the light just flashes on the FC ...need advice but my mind is telling it the USB cable also would I need to load the firmware if so

First I've heard of reversing the props. Nice idea.
Opted for MicroSwift /2.1 lens and who wants a dirty lens forever when you are just on your first FPV experience..
(Never noticed the kit came with 2.8!?! But obvious it sits prone to damage that is going to happen with beginners that are crashing lots. Like I hope I will be....

Can I bind the tyro99 to spektrum dx8?
Why is it that sometimes the quad shows up as a block with text saying "back, top, front" in the axis graphic and sometimes it shows an actual drone Image?

Do u have the Infiniti 5s pack? 1300mah? I crashed my tyro in another tyro and the other one was catapulted into a canal. We recovered both dried and cleaned it and it still flies like new! I recommend u to make the antenna point downward. My capacitor suffered a big dent during the collision
My Infinity pack is only 4S. I have only flown CNHL 5S packs. My other quads all use 4S or 6S. This is the only one that wants 5S. I may mess with the antenna or see I can 3D design something better.
Did you have to flash the tyro99 before betaflight..or just go right into betaflight..my tyro wont connect says failed i downloaded those drivers.didnt know weather i had to flash it my first time on betaflight tryed 2 computers and different usb.s..thanks...ron
Mine connected fine with what it came with. I think I've upgraded it since this video though.
Hiya, I know this is an old video. If you still have this drone could you please post a picture of the resources. I lost battery voltage in the display and I am trying to get it back. Cheers.
My issue is in the receiver tab no matter what I do there is no communication. Please help no one seems to know why.
I cant get my osd to display even though I enabled it. any suggestion.
Do you have both video cables from the camera and vtx connected to the flight board on the correct solder pads? Also, look in BetaFlight and make sure it is still enabled. Make sure you push "save" on the config tab and the OSD tabs.
@@travisgrindal i figured it out. For some reason i have to have it on auto and config and save that last. If i change anything else at a later time it resets.

Which protocol does your receiver use?
You bridge IBUS/PPM on FC and solder the RX to PPM pad, then choose IBUS in Betaflight
Solder on pad uart 3 for ibus

Motor Reverse????
Usually the front props spin in toward the camera. When they are reversed, the spin out away from the camera. The biggest advantage is that you don't have props throwing grass into your camera. Also, I think the quad is able to survive more crashes with the props reversed.

warning for buyers you can burn ECS ..... problem are motors that are badly made .... all with silver nuts .... have one problem .... distance washers are two under the hairpin and silver steel should be on the right But the copper holder under the clip, it's easy to verify ... knock the engine left to the right a dozen times lightly compressing it when you feel a slight crack or resistance check washers and clean the magnets and stalls from debris ... for me this problem was solved if I connected the motors without checking, I would surely fry the next ECS ... Regards
Look like you use quad1,2,3,4 not a quad x.reversing motor

Heh... True. I agree. There isn't much royalty free music that YT doesn't flag. When it finds it, it strips out the audio stream on me. The music in this video is from a local band. One of my friends is the lead singer.
A tip for finding music for these kinds of videos.. google "soundcloud ________ music playlist" with the blank being whatever type of music you want ie "easy listening, EDM, trap, hip-hop, instro-rock" etc. Soundcloud music is not protected and YT will not take it. Basically every large FPV channel you know of uses this method. Mr. Steele even posts the songs he uses in his vids in a playlist so that would be a good place to start. Great video though man! Youve got a sub from me :)
