You can save a lot of hardware if instead of the Li-Ion battery you use a small NiMH such as GP 1/3AAA cell, and just connect it with a suitable trickle charge resistor to the Qi charger circuit output. But the execution of this is superb, especially like how you integrated the LED from the Li-Ion charger PCB into the original light guide.
I know I'm late to the party but the G305 can comfortably use higher voltages, no need to step it down to 1.5v. Currently using a Li-Ion in mine and its pure voltages (ranging from 3.7 to 4.2)
My Logitech M510 takes 2 AA batteries. Would I need 2 of those 3.7A rechargable batteries, and how would that impact the installation? OR...could the wireless system simply charge 2xAA rechargeable batteries? Thank you, Tony.
@@tommy6742 You can combine the Qi charging receiver with the USB rechargeable battery. You can simply connect the Qi receiver to that battery's USB input directly. You can also avoid a lot of rewiring, making the mod SUPER simple to execute. The only drawbacks of that solution is that for one the 1.5V regulator in the USB rechargeable AAA is wasteful; and the other is that there is no charge termination light. The drawback that all these mods share is that the mouse will not know when the battery is flat and won't warn you.
Why not just charge the battery directly from the battery charger board and drop the "wireless" charging completely? How do you charge this when you forgot your wireless charger? Using the battery charger board to charge the board directly - Allows you to use the mouse while charging. You cant do this with "wireless" charging since the mouse needs to be on top of the "wireless" charger. - You don't need to bring the "wireless" charger. You'll most likely bring your phone charger so you already have the means to charge.
True, but this is way way more convenient for pc users. Just use the mice for the day and keep it on top of the wireless charging pad at night. No messy cable to manage and no connecting bs.
if you used the original g305 then you have to check the sensitivity of your mouse. The tiny height difference can cause your mouse to have dpi shift. not a lot, but enough to feel the difference when you do huge flicks.
Wow, this probably made a noticeable difference in the weight as well! Very cool!

Thank you very much!

If I remove the wireless charging and attach only the 5 pin, will the voltage problem go up while charging?
I enjoyed the video! Let me ask you a question,, to regulate 3.7v to 1.5v or around, what is register that uses? maybe 56ohms?
its in the video and yea 56
ams 1117 1.5 is better

@@ghitaandrei2990 hi, battery with the tp4056?? And another question, Your mouse loses charge when it is off?? ( Sorry for my English)
@@ghitaandrei2990 i have my g305 with the tp4056 and ams 1.5v, baterry 220mah and the ams is a lineal step down ( resistors)
Wonderful job! Congratulations!
how do you know the value of the resistor my friend?
Omg, incridible job man!!!

You can use a USB rechargeable battery and save on the charging board cost and space
It's not about saving money when it comes to qi wireless charging mod, it's all for the convenience of not needing to plug and unplug cables.

The link you posted for the qi wireless coil has a bigger pcba than the one on this video, could you link one that's exactly like yours?
So good. I love this. I wish I could too.

why is the resistance used in the output from 3.7v lipo?...cant we use 3.7v lipo directly?...sorry i dont know much about electronics
@@dleh99 How do we calculate how much the 56 Ohm resistor reduces the 3.7V down? Like what is the resultant voltage?
@@TaimurZulqarnain the board will handle the 3.7v alone.the resistor is to drop it so its not using all 3.7

I didn't finish the video, I got sleep.

Hello
This mouse last more than 6 months on one AA battery. Just get rechargable battery...
no way it will last 6 months, you are either not using your mouse much or your are running at low performance mode...
@evertchin to be honest, this depends on what battery you get
On my way to buy 2000rs wireless charger to do this experiment
Get a PMM mouse mod. Thank me later.
