  • Microsoft's newest entry in the Home Theatre PC keyboard controllers is GREAT for TV use, but you might want to avoid this if you're planning to do any heavy office work on this thing!

    @all: There is no problem to "lock" the function keys and there is no problem to use HOME and END.
    Just press and hold the Fn-key and press for a short moment on the CAPS-Lock (above left shift-key with the big A in it and the lock-icon on the right side).
    This is a standard function and it works without any problems on Windows 10 (1607).
    Sry for my bad english.
    +public public is right:
    FN + CAPS = FN lock to press f5 for actually f5.
    FN + LEFT = HOME
    FN + RIGHT = END
    EDIT: I use the model v1.0. Manufactured in 2016. Model number: 1496.

    To enable the f1...f12 in first press just press for 2 seconds Fn+CapsLock; there are customizable buttons as the three on top of the touchpad, just use the microsoft application (you'll find it on the keyboard's page on microsoft site) and you'll have back your End, Home and Print Screen buttons... ;D

    Home: Fn + Left arrow
    End: Fn + Right arrow

    Page Down: Fn + Down arrow

  • @mkpc12
    @mkpc12 Před 9 lety +2

    Honestly... I never use the "home" and "end" keys. Easier just to click where you want to go in the text by using this amazing thing called a "cursor". Usually what happens is I hit the "home" or "end" key on my keyboard by accident and mess up my work. And +Lt. Albert PR is right. The home and end keys are Ctrl+ left/right (For words) or Ctrl + Up/Down (for paragraphs). At least with the keyboard hooked up to my computer.

    • @anSealgair
      @anSealgair Před 6 lety +1

      But clicking means you have to keep switching from the keyboard to the mouse. Fatiguing if you do a lot of keyboard work. I use Home, End (while typing), Pg Up and Pg Down (web browsing) so much that I'm buying a keyboard with those dedicated keys to replace my old one with those keys. I bought a Logitech K400 Plus TV keyboard that is very similar to this Microsoft one and having to hold Fn so much is such a pain. But it's great for my TV and Xbox.

      OMG YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER! I was soooo sad I that I bought this and it doesn't have these two buttons. Still I wish they had them so I can also use SHIFT and CTRL with the Home and End buttons (for selections and stuff)
      I mean there's space above the left and right buttons why didn't they just put them there? It's like they're trying to make it bad :\

      Win 10 (1607) it works fine. Just press and hold Fn first, thats important and then press on the caps lock for a short moment where you find the 'lock'-icon on your keyboard. I bought mine today and I see a lock-icon beside the |A| on the keyboard.
      It works fine on Windows 10. Please do not tell other people wrong things like this when you just can not operate with it.

      Yet another rechargeable battery to maintain, that wears out and you wait until it's recharged if it goes flat. My Logitech K400 with included AA batteries is rated for 18 months if you do 2 hours of typing a day. You don't need that, let alone more than that.
