- Ingrid Bergman was a wonderful actress and an amazing person. This video is a present for her and for all her fans. It is a tribute to someone who was not afraid to live. Here I only put a few of the things I would say to her, actually, what we all fans would say to her.

Cary was extremely sincere and gracious, on this occasion. Deborah Kerr told me later that she did not mind losing again to Ingrid "such a marvelous actress" and they were friends, fortunately. Ingrid's the best, the very best, and a tribute to Darryl Zanuck that he brought her back, after five years in ridiculous exile, in the right part, at the right time, and, thank you, Darryl Zanuck, wherever you are in this thing called eternity. You did good. Once again. And Hollywood did benefit.

@@lovesosweet4474 While filming in Europe, she had an affair with the director while she was still married and she was ostracized in Hollywood. She married the director, had a child. When I said she had forgiven them, that meant she returned to making American films in Hollywood on her own terms. And the film she made when she returned got her a Best Actress Oscar.
