I love nerd3, but it’ll always be weird that I started watching Dan as a teen and now I’m married and feel like his content has perfectly conformed to me as a married man
Oh, 100%. Betwern having a cutting jig and not usung it, unnecessarily cutting and nailing the seat, not matching the grain, not using a cross brace, i am losing it.
I think even that’s pushing it. My dog would break that thing immediately and she’s barely larger than a cat. Hell, a large enough guinea pig or rabbit could probably break it.
1) Love the Yorkshire impersonation at 5:36 and 5:46! 2) I assume the final level of this is to build an entire IKEA's worth of furniture from scratch? Great video!
There are only 12 challenge levels (the last one being a wooden sofa) after that you jump into free build mode (in 4 different locations) and build whatever you want. A few of us are actually building full sized houses
Okay but when Dan was drawing his chair on the chalkboard it gave me an amazing idea for a chair with a bookcase on the side and I can’t understand how.
I was a carpenter for over a decade. Then I was unceremoniously fired. (I still don't know why) I miss it. This game looks hella fun. Just wish vr wasn't so gods damned expensive.

working in carpentry and seeing dan go “Oh here’s a ruler!” and proceed to grab the framing square and ignore the speed square was both painful and hilarious
Dan, you have many woodworkers in your audience. I am no exception to this rule. I am almost tempted to construct that abomination the same way you did, just to see if it would work in real life.
dan really hasnt changed all this time on the internet, it makes me happy to see that his sense of humor he had 10 years ago is still here and its still in its awesome video form
surely im not the only one who seen the thumbnail and hoped it was a game involving homer trying to build this in Springfield, still just as funny though
Every time I see a new video about VR my mind is blown again. This game looks ridiculously cool! I can't wait to be able to afford VR and the space it requires.
So in the time that this video came out, airport ground handling simulator VR released into early access claiming to be a consumer version of a professional training software which feels up the Airport sim alley, but like this one is apprently serious and good
I have been planning on buying this game since it released, and still haven't. Was looking at it probably a month or two ago again, thought, I'll probably actually buy it now, and then didn't again.
I can see who has a future in building police interrogation chairs. Pro tip: cut the front legs 1" shorter than the rear legs. Nails sticking up in the seat? I don't see a problem with that.
Dan screaming with genuine happiness and pride "you can sit on that!" and then immediately noticing the nails sticking out finished me off
it was the gentle tapping of the nails 1/3 of the way back out that that did me in
For me it was him cutting two squares out of the board to make the seat rather than just cutting one piece at 42cm to get the same length in one go
"ill cut the other bit at an angle as well so they match up" is an actual sentence i have said in DT class before
same here mid way through construction of a miniature coffin xD
Dan gets progressively more working class the more he builds its hilarious
That... was definitely an ending to an excellent video.
Of all the video endings on this channel, that was definitely one of them.
I love nerd3, but it’ll always be weird that I started watching Dan as a teen and now I’m married and feel like his content has perfectly conformed to me as a married man
To be fair, Dan _also_ got married in the intervening time, so . . .
Damn man, I’ve been watching Dan since I was about 9 years old. I’m 20 now. I fucking love it
Speaking as the son of a carpenter...
You nailed it.
Speaking as a carpenter…
He really did.
Commercial framer / drywall guy here. when he skipped the speed square I wanted to throw my screen
Dan somehow managed to make the exact same flat, square looking chair that I have. It's also as uncomfortable as it looks in this video.
Please stream this and build what your audience asks. I think that would be very entertaining
I’d did wood work for 5 years in high school. This is one of the most painful videos you’ve made.
At least he had the decency to ensure you're not sitting on nails. I didn't. Whoops
I did woodworking in highschool. Then spent the next 13 years as a carpenter. This is brutal.

Since it's held together with hopes and dreams, rather than with proper nail placement, yes, yes it most certainly would.

im fairly sure he's devolving to his essex roots, not randomly venturing northwards

The image in my head is you build two small book cases, and then use them as legs for the chair.
Now I want to see this chair made in real life. I wonder if it would crumble under its own weight XD
I love that throughout the entire video Daniel slow becomes more and more Essex
I was a carpenter for over a decade. Then I was unceremoniously fired. (I still don't know why) I miss it. This game looks hella fun. Just wish vr wasn't so gods damned expensive.
It's getting cheaper. Occulus is $300 and the pc to run it could be constructed over multiple months assuming you have a steady paycheck.

The start was so accurate to my ADHD
*finds one thing I need for project*
Brain: Welp! Time to sleep!
Coming from me, a genuine all American cabinet maker, well done Dan. Well done. 10/10 would sit again.
Didn't know I needed a video of Dan doing virtual woodwork until now.
Honestly Dan doing anything in VR is a delight
Your not wrong there.
Dan, you have many woodworkers in your audience. I am no exception to this rule.
I am almost tempted to construct that abomination the same way you did, just to see if it would work in real life.
Dan, that thing you couldn't identify is a quick clamp. Squeezing the handle tightens it, pulling the trigger releases it.
dan really hasnt changed all this time on the internet, it makes me happy to see that his sense of humor he had 10 years ago is still here and its still in its awesome video form
This is so funny it had me in stitches. Answers the question, what if Dan got a "real" job🤣🤣
Are you sure it was laughter and not the nails going through the chair?
Alright, you Woodshop students and expert carpenters. I dare you to make Dan's Throne.
As a former semi good carpenter, this is painful to watch. 10/10 woodsplinters
In which Dan builds a chair fit for some pretty specific leg torture
Danial smashing up estradiol to snort at the end there
carpenters and woodworkers have to be banging their heads against a wall watching the construction of this chair
Haven't watched Dan in years really happy to see he's still uploading
*hammers nails in diagonally when they could be hammered in the other way, normally.*
What I think is great about the ending is that the chair he made looked almost exactly like the chair he drew.
I haven’t watched Dan in years, and hearing “Hello procrastinators!” literally just made me tear up. I’m so glad you’re still around, Daniel
That patreon list just isnt the same without ZoomZoom0. You will be missed

Always a nice surprise when Dan uploads
You nailed this video.
Shoutouts to the fact you could've just cut another cube if you wanted to
This really makes me appreciate Matthias Wandel even more
...Dan sounds more and more like his dad in every video.
Alot of me saying "Why?" at points in this video. For instance why did he cut that board for the seat in 2 pieces?
Actually I think the skinny bits where supposed to go on the bottom for the legs. Other than that I dont see any issues with the chair.
Excellent torturers chair with the pointy bits where the thighs are.
Looks like Dan is playing with his wood again!

why didn't you just cut the seat bit longer rather than nailing another bit to it?
