The most painful thing one can ever go through in life is meeting the right person at the wrong place and time. Fall for them, but never really get to truly love. Or even let them know just how much you have fallen for them. On top of it all, you suddenly lose them and never get the closure you need.
I actually got to see 2046 and absolutely hated how Chow liked to use women and act so cold when one admits feelings for him. Then I got to see this and I understood. Chow will forever carry the scars of never having the proper closure. He is unable to make new relationships, and unable to love someone, because he is still in love with someone. He is stuck with the Whatifs.
SO when you are Chow, what do you do?
1. Do you become thankful that someone like that appeared in your life, even though you never got to keep them?
2. Or do you become resentful knowing you can never love another person like that again?
