Nah JID carried the original. Now this just average and sounds like every other Imagine Dragons song
So true, I heard this version first before the "original" and I was surprised with the orig's rap part. Doesn't fit that much compared to this.
This is definitely the original, they just got JID as a last minute feature. Still, I love JID and his voice is honestly perfect for it, but you can tell he was just slapped onto it near release. Looking at both versions, they're literally the same song but they just cut out Dan's verse and replaced it with JID instead of actually shaping the song for a new verse. It is what it is, I guess.
Don't really enjoy rap, find it hard to understand what they are evening saying because it sounds like mumbling

Honestly, no offense to JID, but Dan’s rap segment made a lot more sense when put into context with Arcane.
Netflix had to fill their diversity quota. They couldn't do it well in the series itself so they butchered the music video instead by adding this guy balbbering for 1m on the screen, instead of , you know ... Jinx/Vi showing up on the screen.
I mean, the band itself shows up at the start+ end of the video, and the rest is supposed to be the Arcane characters. But no... add the token guy on a throne cause that makes sense storywise.
