As a huge KJP fan living in Wales I was gobsacked to find out that he by chance discovered, and then recorded, this possibly our most beautiful and best known Welsh hymn - originally composed and sung in Welsh in 1762 and later 'translated' (essentially re-written) in English in 1771 which is when the 'Bread of Heaven' line (which is how the hymn is often known in Wales) was introduced. I love how sometimes things connect up in a way that seems completely marvellous amd mysterious!
At 2:55 when he starts that descending scale what scale is he using and what is his right hand fingering? It looks like a banjo type roll. That little section is very typical KJP and I'd like to be able to do it. Great song, great album. Thanks.

Love that so much. Nothing more timeless than the time tested hymns and no one better to sing and play them than Kelly Joe Phelps. Thank you!
This is my very favorite hymn and it has never been played with more soul. Absolutely wonderful.
Thank you very much.
