    Awaiting every new Video from you 😊. THX ❤ I noticed that SP PowerApp Forms do not work for external users or users with private plans, because they do not have PowerApp permissions. That's pretty sad 😢. I understand that behaviour for Canvas App but it is ridiculous for just forms. Regards from Cologne in Germany.

    Thanks Shane. A very thorough overview of the various forms available in M365. I agree with you on the need to introduce users to the tools that will get the job done for them in the easiest and quickest way.

    One of the negatives of exposing MS Forms externally is there is no DLP control. People can expose PII type information or post it through the form when you may not want that type of data to be entered as your organization may not be responsible for it.

      I second this but we can reduce the impact. Moreover, the person field in the sharepoint list ms form exposes users.

      One of our customers has something like this. What we do is we have an approval process tied to the form. So they fill out the form, flow triggers, first action is approval, where a human validates the data before it gets written to the data source. 😎 I agree with you, always something to consider.

    Hi Shane, you always have great videos with valid comments, but for me this is also confusing. In some request (entry) lists there is a due date mentioned, how would you automatically notify the external user that this date is coming and that he should respond with 'no extension' or a 'new due date' and automatically update that data in the list?

      For that you would build a Power Automate Cloud Flow. Something like this video czcams.com/video/qGqqQjGMun8/video.html

    Ok, bud, curve ball. Email as an input. The form on the CMS sends an email 📧 because well the org doesn't have a connector. What's the best option here?
    My issue is this leaves too many artefacts on too many different systems 😢
    And well validation of the user can be haphazard as well. (User search & person field).

    • @ShanesCows
      @ShanesCows  Před měsícem +1

      Best I can offer you is you can create a Power Automate Cloud Flow where Email is the trigger. So everytime you get an email from X or everytime the subject says Y type of thing. Then you would need to parse it. If the email isn't very well structured then 😢 it will be ugly. Might try passign the body to AI Prompts and see if they can parse it out for you if unstructured.

    I'm going to file a complaint in Redmond. They must stop trying to confuse you this much. If even the experts get confused, how should we mortals find our way home.

      Yeah, forms are apparently not very useful if you use Dark mode browser and a dark theme. Sorry, should just be that one part that is hard to read.
