Is one design better than another, or does all snorkel differ only in ascethics? I did hear that depending on which direction the head air intake faces affects airflow in someway or could the differences be of no impact on the engine performance at all?
warmest regards from Italy Florence a question about the snorkel I see many snorkels on many off-road vehicles that have the mushroom pipe turned towards the rear of the 4x4 off-road vehicle and does anyone have the mushroom pipe turned towards the front of the 4x4 off-road vehicle? (and some off-road vehicles Does the 4x4 have a cyclone mushroom like an agricultural or earthmoving machine?) Christmas 2023 from Italy Florence!)
Practical reason for rear facing head is to prevent unwanted particulates from entering the intake manifold.
For city/highway driving it is healthier to have forward facing head due to better airflow.
