- This faux iron wall decor piece is perfect for Valentine's but it's also something that could be left up all year long. It is made from just 2 of Dollar Tree's Garden Fence pieces but it looks so much more expensive!
You should be able to find the Garden Fence pieces at your local Dollar Tree but they are also available on Dollar Tree’s website at
shrsl.com/1eexz and they will ship to your store for free!

A true crafter sees a heart from a garden fence LOVELY
I have seen so many projects using the dollar tree fencing. Yours is my favorite. 🤗
Aww, thank you so much!
I made one of these hearts turned out nicely. I just thought this was so pretty I wanted for my home as well. Thank you for the direction. Your such a good teacher as well.
Aww, thank you so much! I'm glad you made one for your home.
I’m also trying to make your windmill shelve , and I’m having a harder time with this. My measurements were all crazy. I can’t believe you did it with hot glue. Any suggestions?
Super cute
Very creative!
Very creative.
I just finished cutting my pieces but haven’t assembled it yet. I cut ectra pieces and used the best ones. Snipping and sanding really helps improve the shape. My shapes aren’t perfect but they are the best that I could do on my first attempt. Thank you so much for this great DIY. I may paint mine gold and add a bit of glitter or crushed glass to mine. The shape is great and lends itself to many style/color variations.
I"m so glad you gave it try! It would look pretty painted gold and with some added bling! :)
I decided not to add glitter. The metal gold paint looked goid without glitter. I plan to make another one. Hopefully my cuts will be better. I love the shape and style so much.
Soooo cute!
LOVE it
Really cute! ❤️💜💚
I kind of like the back also .love the whole thing

Hi Chantel, I just watched your video on the wall medallion you made out of these hearts and I guess I missed this video, I can’t believe it!! But they are both so adorable!! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful idea. I always love your ideas and videos.
Really love this part a lot ! this is awesome ! thanks again for sharing …. I think I might have to try and work out a design of my own to use at the head of my bed " not a head board" just a decoration piece but I would have never known where to begin without your video sharing Thanks again
As I was making this I found that I was able to make nice cuts by using the pruning shears from the dollar store. My heart turned out pretty cutee.
Thx for letting us know that trick
I made this. I love it. Great instructions. My husband couldn't believe where it came from. Lol. Thanks
That's awesome Norma! Thanks for watching. I'm glad you have it a try. 🙂

This is genius!! I really hope I can find some of these!! Thank you for sharing ♥️. Jessie
I was able to order them online and have them shipped to my local store. The minimum order was only 4 pieces. After, I placed the order, I found them in a different Dollar Tree.
Oh ok thank you!! I didn’t think you could order them!! I just love your diy’s♥️. Jessie

LOVE HEART SHAPES! THIS IS SECOND TIME WATCHING. WILL HAVE TO WATCH AT LEAST ONCE MORE WHEN I ACTUALLY GET ATOUND TO MAKING. MAY TRY THE MEDALLION AS WELL. I NEED TO GRAB MORE DT FENCES BEFORE THEY DISAPPEAR!
Holy cow!👍
So stinkin cute!! I don't know how you came up with this idea. My brain doesn't work that way. 🤣 Love that you gave us step by step instructions! Thank you! ❣️
My dollar store here in Canada has those garden fence pieces but they are solid all the way around.. not flat on the back. This makes them more challenging to cut ;)
Oh, I bet that would make it harder. Thanks for watching Christine!
What a great idea!!! So many possibilities!!!
I wonder if using tin cutters would make it easier???
Yaaay first!
Love this!! I’m going to make one and how many garden dance does it take to make one full heart? So I know how many to buy
Thanks! It takes 2 of the fence pieces to make one heart. Have fun making it!
Wow! What N ingenious way of utilizN those $ Tree plastic fences! Really cute! I think I'd evN like it in sum sorta red (I'd do in barn red thou)?! Idk, I'd hafta C it... But really likN the ivory!
Thanks 4 sharN, L
The heart would look great as a sconce

I don't mind if you do this on your own channel, but please do credit me and include a link to my video in your description. Thanks so much!
@@LovinLifesJourney most definitely thank you so much
No wonder I can’t find this fencing anywhere! This is the 3rd video I watched using them.
Yes, these are pretty popular for doing projects with so when you see them in your store, you definitely want to snatch some up. Thanks for watching!
+Lovin' Life's Journey W/Chantel ~ Oh my goodness, beautiful young lady! I would venture to assume, that we've all seen many creative designs using these garden/lawn fencing stakes. In fact just the other evening I was in store, staring at them, trying to find inspiration to create something unique and one that hasn't been re-duplicated multiple times. I actually 'looked' within it, for a heart type shape within the pretty and curvy scroll parts. I did not see anything out of the ordinary palet, and after awhile I passed on these. Then I stumbled across your one of a kind DIY video(S)!! I am quite impressed honey, bavo 👏🏻 for this inspiring piece. I naturally subscribed😉 and most definitely will try my hand at creating this little, simple, yet very chic masterpiece ~ for someone who has an alert eye for the hidden gems! If I may add, your personality comes through as one whose calm demeanor, sweet persona, and instruction descriptives are smooth and easily followed. I'm wondering if you have a background in education? You certainly have a natural talent for such! I apologize for rambling on. Thank you for a totally new take on the garden stake! Many blessings. 💙🙏🏻💙
You are so sweet @Annalee Sellars! I'm glad I could give you some inspiration. I do not have any formal training in education but I have done a lot of teaching and training over the years in jobs and at church. I really enjoy teaching others new things. Thank you so much for your sweet comments and for subscribing to my channel! Have a blessed day!
I am an avid crafter and I have to be honest here. I tried this and it was very difficult to get nice cuts and curves out of this fence. I even tried my heavy duty scissor and my wire cutters. I got half way done and didn't even remotely like the look of this. It sucks because as I said I worked really hard to cut the fence apart. It looks good on camera, but in practice mine looks crappy.
I'm sorry you weren't happy with yours and I agree that it can be challenging to get nice cuts. The trimming and sanding step helps with this. Also, I found that the paint covers a lot and once it was painted it looked way better. I'm really happy with my finished project.
Try replacing your scissors or wire cutters. Through time they become dull and won’t cut or snip as well as they used to. Hope you don’t mind that I added this comment, hth!
If you look at hers up close you can see all the imperfections as well. You are probably being too critical. Just finish it and look at it on a wall and I bet you love it!
Tammy Pineda I agree we are worst chronic! If I make something from one of these DIY videos it never looks as good as theirs do, but they don’t look bad either
