If you manually shift you can make it a bit faster I kno from experience idk why tho

Just DoIt he’s talking about shifting with the paddles. Stock prolly doesn’t rev as close to the limiter in each gear. If you paddle shift you can hold to longer revs making it fastee

At first, I was not sold on the new Jetta look, but seeing the GLI like this, I think it looks pretty good now.

I've had the 35th ann edition for 11 months. Zero problems, quick as hell. Love it.
I test drove one with the DSG and found that without using launch control, it lagged a little bit from a dead stop, even in sport mode. Does that match up with your experience?
The red version of this car is actually drop dead gorgeous!
I have a red one - a 2020 with the DSG - and have to agree!
When you went around those corners it really had me grinning, sure looks like a fun car!
I love my 2019 GLI 35th anniversary edition with DSG.

Hola! Acabo de adquirir uno! Quisiera preguntarte algo! Vi noticias que el Jetta GLI fue visto en Nürburgring sabes el tiempo que hizo o solo fue probado ahi!
Xavi PD así es, todos los modelos de alto desempeño de Volkswagen son probados en nurburgring independientemente cual sea el mercado de origen, obviamente los modelos europeos como VW Golf GTI, VW Golf R, VW Polo GTI, VW Arteon R, VW Tiguan R y VW Touareg R son probados en Nurburgring, pero los modelos que no son vendidos en europa como el VW Jetta GLI (Solo en america), el Polo GTS, Virtus GTS (solo en Sudamerica) y Lamando GTS (solo en China) fueron testeados en Nurburgring para dejarlos a punto en motor, suspensión, transmisión, frenos, etc.

The interior is fantastic, especially for a fairly "entry" level car. Between this and the 2.0T Accord, which one would you choose for a fun daily driver?
Kamil Kapitan I’ve had mine for about 2 and a half months. It’s the same exact car as the one he tested. I haven’t found a complaint yet. It’s literally a GTI sedan. Steering is great, ride is even better, it can both be comfortable and sporty feeling. And what a solid car, you buy a VW for it’s solidity and quality and it definitely shows in this car. You won’t get the same driving experience in any Honda. They really hit the mark with this car and it drives just as well as a new A4.
Accord 2.0T all the way, has more power and interior is spacious. Can't go wrong with a detuned type r engine
I disagree. Everything is black and it all looks like black plastic. Nothing interesting about the interior at all!
GLI just as fast for a lot less! Plus DSG, DCC, Golf R 13.4" brakes = fun
@@MrGrandetaco707 The GLI has a detuned GOLF R engine that holds a higher record than the TYPE R engine on stock block. Also in this past two years it was shown the GLI just tunes much better

@@kufan121 ...no, it did not. I recently replaced my 04 GTI 1.8t with a 2019 WRX. The WRX does not have an exterior trunk release button on the trunk; hence my comment. It's either a button on the lower left dash or key fob. If there is an exterior trunk release, I haven't found it. More than one factor went into my car decision; however the WRX was actually supposed to be a BRZ...but...wife said the BRZ was not practical enough for the family (despite the GTI being a 2-door), so she said why not go with a WRX. Almost went '19 Alltrack, almost went '19 GTI, even thought about a '19 Crosstrek, but that's a story for another day.

A VR6 in a gli would be freaking awesome..like the old school vr6 Jetta. I test drove the Passat vr6 and it didn’t do enough for me at the time to want to purchase one.
The GLI is barely heavier. It's such a small difference. It's hauls ass just as hard as the GTI.

... Who, where, when, which part, what engine, what transmission...need details, not speculation. Invalid blanket statements don't do anyone any good. My 04 gti was reliable through the 15 years I had it, so I'm not sure what you mean....

One of my coworkers owns a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta that she bought new, and after only 3 years, she had problems arise with the thermostat, engine cooling fan, and the water pump.
The water pump had already developed a crack after only 3 years, which is very unusual.
Don't act like vw be on that reliable shit. I own vw and I can say they are very unreliable
They’re reliable if you maintain them, like any other car. Don’t change the oil or do scheduled maintenance and that’s on you
@@dave_riots...strange...isolated incident? T-stat is just a bad part. WP is a bad part too....Granted, mk4 cars were known for their plastic water pump impellers disintegrating, but when mine was changed at 11yrs/91k mi, it was just showing signs of wear.
Yes, I had 2 recalls (brake switch, coil packs), but the car performed flawlessly to the point I almost replaced it w/a 2019 Alltrack or GTI.
I had a difficult time finding one in my spec (S w/manual), so I jumped ship and went the Subaru WRX route. So, will I be better off....only time will tell. [no, I don't vape]

Bummer that the current DSG tuning will shift up before redline even in sport mode. My 2018 Alltrack which only has the 1.8T will hold gears until redline in sport or even past it (bounce the limiter) in manual mode.
1.8T is a good one. Got a 2.0T now. Need to reprogram shift point limits.

Why VW switched to that horrible door chime I will never know. On their older models that sound was reserved for when you do something stupid like drive away with the parking brake on. Now you have to listen to it every time you open the door with the engine on? That's insane. It's a really jarring sound that makes you think something is really wrong.
I hate the door chime, too loud!

It's a 7 speed DSG and is fantastic, quicker than the manual.

Toxy here in America the Jetta is the sedan version of the Golf, the interior is similar to the polo/virtus that sold in Europe and South America, but this jetta is based on the MQB platform, the same as Golf, Tiguan, Passat(EU version), Arteon, Seat Leon, Seat ateca, Audi A3 and Audi Q3, the VW Polo is based on the MQB A0 platform is a cheaper version of the MQB and is used in the VW polo, VW virtus, VW tcross, Seat ibiza, Seat arona and Audi A1, the interior of this jetta is the new version, the digital cockpit is new and its the same that used the passat facelift 2019 in Europe, the newer VW cars the digital cockpit decrease from 12 inch display to 10 inch display

Nadie habla de la calidad , compre uno en Marzo y ya lo estoy vendiendo por que se le pasa el anticongelante a los pistones por la junta, tiene 7,000 kilometros y nunca se pasó de 6,000 rpm para cuidarlo, totalmente decepcionado , aunque tiene garantía no lo recomiendo

Erick Rsms, no es para nada nuevo (cómo podrás ver en el historial de su canal) y esa es la finalidad, dejar que el coche hable por sí mismo. Para eso tiene un segundo canal que se llama The Topher donde sí hace comentarios acerca del coche. Todo esto lo puedes leer en las descripciones de sus videos.
